Dates set for Austin Super-Regional against TCU

We take on Texas Christian University for the second year in a row at the Austin Super-Regional and the game dates and times have been announced.

Friday, June 11th at 2pm (Texas Time) on ESPN2
Saturday, June 12th at noon on ESPN
Sunday, June 13th at 3pm on ESPN (if necessary)

Yes, the game is on national TV.  You're welcome Texas fans.  Obviously, the winner of this Super-Regional gets to punch their ticket to Omaha to play in the 2010 College World Series in Rosenblatt Stadium.  This will be the last CWS to be played at Rosenblatt.  Lets take that honor of winning there, back home to Austin for the 7th time.  Hook em!

How difficult is it to get tickets to these games? I’m thinking of driving to Austin to see them….

Sold out

Per Texassports.com

Stumpy: It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground. I was bummin' in a hole-in-the-wall town in what is now called "Utah".

What about scalpers? Anyone know how expensive those would be?

Please don't support scalpers

scalpers are the reason the tickets are sold out….think about it

Nothing like a little baseball

to take my mind off Expandageddon 2010.

Sold out? Sounds like it’s time for me to pick up a shift at the Disch…

No joke

I just hope ESPN doesn’t ruin the CWS by spending the entire time talking about realignment. They ruined last year’s by filling the booth with washed up big leaguers and front office types who were so busy discussing MLB and their favorite sports movies that they completely forgot there was a pretty important competition going on in front of them.

Don't hold your breath

While I’m hoping for little to no coverage on the realignment during the game, I’m expecting a dead horse to be beaten repeatedly. Seems to be ESPN’s MO

I'm rooting for the Aggies today

Not often I write a sentence like that. And I didn’t know where else in this blog to do it. But I got no love for Miami, and it would be swell to have 3 Big 12 teams in the Superregionals, even if they do include ou and a/m. The SEC (damn them) has 5.

by NYCHorn on Jun 8, 2010 11:27 AM CDT reply actions

No way.

Hope A&M gets blasted and OU gets swept by UVA. No love for those schools. I don’t care about conference allegiance with those two.

Sports is man's joke on God, You see, God says to man, 'I've created a universe where it seems like everything matters, where you'll have to grapple with life and death and in the end you'll die anyway, and it won't really matter.' So man says to God, 'Oh, yeah? Within your universe we're going to create a sub-universe called sports, one that absolutely doesn't matter, and we'll follow everything that happens in it as if it were life and death.'" - Sam Kellerman

And they did get blasted, 3-10. That's a shame..

I wonder how that Big 12 Tournament Championship tastes now?

Their T shirts still say

“Big XII Conference Baseball Champions” and I heard they were getting rings. And they they didn’t lose that game to Miami, they ran out of innings while the ump was trying to determine what the strike zone size differential was for the two teams.Homecooking = 10-3 loss. Oh, and they were tired from not sleeping in their own beds, and the weather sucked. Poor aggy.

by horndude on Jun 10, 2010 8:05 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah they choked again

I’m not shedding any tears. That’s the beauty of those odd circumstances when you don’t mind seeing a/m or ou win — it’s still always good to see them lose.

Oh wow

This is just a huge killer timewise. How am I supposed to focus on both the Horns and USA at the same time?
