Apparently the Cleveland Browns (you know, a team known for making wise personnel decisions) is considering cutting Colt McCoy from the roster according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Dan Patrick was discussing this earlier.
I'm considering this to be one of the dumbest ideas ever. They've already paid him the signing bonus, not to mention gone on about how he isn't going to be playing this year, but learning from Delhomme and getting his bearings, etc. But he has two tough preseason games and now they're ready to cut him?
I suppose it could be a motivational ploy, but if so, it is a bad one. I just have a hard time believing they'd cut ties this easily. Isn't it a given that a third rounder may be a bit of a project? Especially since they basically said it themselves?
Give the guy a chance for crying out loud. We all know he has talent.
