Great stuff
During a family trip one summer when Garrett was in high school, Gale even tried to convince Garrett to check out Berkeley, but Gilbert wanted nothing to do with any school other than Texas. “He had zero interest,” Gale said. “If Texas offered, that was what he was doing.”
I don't always watch football, but when I do, I prefer Dos Achos. Stay thirsty, my friends.
I believe.
"Football's so important in Texas. On the West Coast, it's a social. On the East Coast, it's a culture. Here, it's a religion."

Love this quote too
in a state that breeds quarterbacks as well as it smokes beef brisket.

replayed the Texas Alabama Game. I watched the game in a less emotional ravaged state than the first time. For a team as accomplished as Alabama is supposed to be, they came within a hairs breath of losing. Scoring 2 touchdowns in the last 3 minutes makes it seem much more one sided than it was. It was pretty obvious that Alabama wouldn’t have been able to cope with the Texas passing game if a more experienced QB had been making the decisions.
Garrett did much better than I expected against a defense as good as Alabama was supposed to be but the effort fell a little bit short. That’s why it’s hard to understand the media this year talk about Alabama, If you can just barley defeat a team that has a backup QB with about a quarters worth of play time how good is your team? how good is that defense?
