UT unveils new commercials

Four of the five are pretty much the same commercial, just different voiceovers. The one called "Brag" is very, very Texas. Everyone not associated with UT will hate it, which is probably what we were going for. The fifth one is people flashing the Hook 'em sign all over the world. Very cool.
I love how simple our ads always are. No need to geek up our commercials with science majors in research labs or kids wearing burnt orange t-shirts lounging around on the South Mall. We're cooler than that.

Walter Cronkite’s a tough act to follow. At least now people won’t think we have the Whataburger guy doing our commercials ;)
As far as imagery, you can’t beat a “Hook ’em Horns” via sonogram.

Although I miss Cronkite’s voice.
The “bragging” spot will definitely get some haters all riled up.
Nice.
Man, I love these commercials. It always picks me up when I’m having a crappy day, overwhelmed by schoolwork and I see these commercials and remember “What Starts Here Changes the World.” Always makes me pick myself up, dust myself off and work even harder to prove that motto right.
Every time I feel down and depressed, I think of seven simple words by a true wise man, Matt Leinart: "I still think we're the better team" and I usually end up hurting myself by laughing so hard.
I like Crokite's better.

I am surprised by the comments
I am glad we’ve moved on from Cronkite, God rest him. These ads are beautiful, elegant and powerful, more than a cut above the average blandness that most schools use. I can’t wait to see these all season long. Well done, UT.
Not a big fan of these ads
of course they’re better than the standard school ads we see, but this is basically a fixed image with some computer graphics involved. I liked the real time shots of the tower during sunset, and Cronkite’s voice sounds more appropriate than Conrad.
The older commercials would give me chills because of the scenery and music. These commercials are kind of bland.

I learned over on hornfans
that these were produced within UT, whereas the Cronkite spots were done by superagents GSD&M. I know nothing about this industry, but could certainly tell the difference. Here’s the link.
