2011 UCF game, moved to 2017
Just a simple report, no addition info that I can find, one would assume that Texas had to reschedule it to accomodate the new round robin scheduling the Big 12 is starting next year.

Its funny to me....
that by pushing back UFC from ’11 to ’17 and UTEP from ’12 to ’16 our schedules for those years are already set, but 2012 is still in need of another opponent…..as well as 14 & 15.
What's the source? Just curious
The MB-TF site still shows UCF listed for Sept. 24, 2011 . . . don’t think the Colorado issue (staying for 2011, or not) has been resolved.
UT’s site lists only USC on the 2017 schedule.
MB-TF is horrible about updating its scheduling....
I mean they still have Nebraska on 2011 2014 and 2015 Colorado on 2012 and 2013 and haven’t rescheduled the UTEP and UCF games. But here is the official word from UCF like I said Texas has no report out yet, UCF replaced our game with BYU. And as far as Colorado they aren’t moving to the Pac10 till 2012.
And as far as 2017....
they struck a deal with Maryland to play a home and home (but theirs is at Fed Ex Field).

2017 and 2018 are gearing up for some badass schedules. Doesn’t 2018 have Notre Dame, USC and Maryland now?
What do we do if somehow Colt McCoy ends up on an NFL team starting against Vince Young?

Weird about UNT and NMST
Both of those teams have us on their future scheudles and we had them on ours as of 4 months ago on MB-TF.com but since the conference realignment and the addition of the new big time OOC games, they no longer have them listed. So I’m not 100% on them but haven’t seen anything saying we are not playing them on either teams sites. I wish we would play MTSU or Troy but I would get too excited about FIU. Who knows, by 2013 NMST may not be in the WAC any more. And fyi San Antonio paper had a peice on UTSA new football program and said that they are working with Texas to try to play a game in 2012. I think we still need another big home and home with someone in 2012 & 2014 to fill out our OOC schedule.
I could actually see us...
…playing a “road” game at UTSA sometime this decade. Somewhat of the San Antonio equivalent of the games at Rice, but keeping it within the UT system.

@Arkansas in 2014?
As the rescheduled game from 2009 when they backed out of our game “so they didn’t have to play A&M and Texas in the same season.” At the time Arkansas begged out of the game, it was supposed to get played “no earlier than 2014.”
Has anything heard anything about this actually happening?

Here is the link from the story you mentioned, as far as I can tell, they must have backed out completely. I cannot find any info on the rescheduling of this game. If the goal was to not play Texas and A&M in the same year then it may be awhile, because as of now they have a contract to play A&M in Jerryworld until 2019….and fyi they back out of playing Texas in Fayetteville so we may have just let them out of the agreement since we technically come out ahead financially. Arkansas’ future schedules are not as accessible, I can only find 2011’s schedule.
But I do have to say.....
that Arkansas would be a much welcomed game in or 2014 schedule. BYU and Arkansas would be another great SOS year.
