Under Armour All-American Game Open Thread
The Under Armour All-American game will take place this evening at 6 pm CST live on ESPN from St. Petersburg, FL. Texas fans may remember the game last year because of the spectacular leaping catch by Mike Davis in the end zone and the announcement from Darius White that he intended to become a Longhorn. A heady day, no doubt.
This year, there are four Longhorn commits participating in the game: Josh Turner, Christian Westerman, and Desmond Jackson. Other notable players include OU commit Brandon Williams and another Texan, Jamal Turner, one of the most electric players in the state and a Nebraska commit. The full roster is here.
Unfortunately, with all the coaching changes going on, I don't have time for a full preview, but fortunately for Texas fans, Helmet Boy threw up an extensive preview over at Recruitocosm that goes into detail on both the UA game and the US Army game that will take place this weekend.
Hook em!

Hopefully all our players are making nice with J. Rasco
I thought he was a real longshot, but now with Bo Davis this could really happen.
oops.. You are right
Let’s hope the players at the AAA are making nice. Hopefully Q. Russell is helping us on Rasco. Russell is very happy with the hiring of Bo Davis.

I was laughing
I hope Bo Davis understands the academic standards will be a bit diffrent recruiting DLs for us.
Bud Adams and The Mullet are idiots. They'll rue the day.

Seriously!? Young Jeezy over Tupac?!
I’m not even a fan of rap and I can see that these fake kids these days can’t hold a candle to Tupac…………sigh.
Anywho, Westerman is owning his man and Desmond Jackson was completely let loose for his sack. UT recruits looking good.
Sometimes, you just gotta do.
My thoughts exactly.

Westerman has been impressive
He has been excellent on every single run play. Using good leverage and moving his man against his will. Pass blocking I could tell he is a little more raw on. He has had some good plays but he also has his inconsistencies where he leans a little and turns his shoulders. All very correctable things but all in all just very impressive.

OU's QB commit Kendal Thompson
Not so good
But, OU has announced the Travis Lewis is returning. How they convinced him to return is mind boggling. He was a pretty sure first rounder. Still no word as to Broyles.
Yeah, he does a good job of keeping them
Bradford could have been a disaster, but now it doesn’t even look so bad.
Anyone see anything of Brandon Williams in the first half?

That was nice to apologize
We do have a disadvantage of only being able to recruit kids that can handle the academics. Just think how Stanford must feel.
Exactly. Brown is limited in who he can recruit.
My mother keeps telling me not to burst that little speech balloon above my head. Some days I’m successful, others not so much. :-)
What we have here is a failure to execute.

My birthday is the first day of spring and I am a 100% Aries. One horoscope book I have says that I “hurl my thoughts and opinions with the subtlety of a cannon ball.” It is true; I have very little filter and those little bubbles come out of my mouth before I can stop them sometimes. I can’t even tell you how many times I have typed a smart a** comment and then slow down and re-read it and realize it isn’t so nice.
I was about to say K Thompson was looking better
But I was thinking that a couple of those passes were almost picked.
That was a nice play by Quandre Diggs
Didn’t bite on the double move and was able to read the eyes of the receiver and knock the ball away at the last second.

Very good play
Being able to read the receivers reactions and get your hands in there for the breakup is an exceptional play.
