BCS
Wow! I cannot believe we are ranked number 24 in the final BCS Rankings? Two of the computers even have us ranked as high as 13! Our computer average ranking is 19. Our regular season record was 7-5 and yet we are the 24th best team in the nation according to the BCS. I bleed burnt orange but even I think this is a little much. I mean we got our A$$ kicked by Baylor and we are still are ranked in the BCS poll. What does everyone else think? Is the BCS flawed or what?

Strength of Schedule
It is pretty much a consensus by most people who make lists or databases that Texas had one of the top five hardest schedules in 2011, over LSU even. That weighs heavily in the computers.

Strength of schedule is really pretty flawed
I think it makes sense when comparing 2 teams with an equal # of wins to see who beat the tougher teams…
HOWEVER, why should we get props for losing to a few good teams.
I think if you look at the strength of schedule on the games we won, its pretty bad. BYU is the only above 500 team that we beat.

do you think houston should be ranked over say arkansas?
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

You make kind of a good point.
Should a team be rewarded for losing to good teams? In a sense, I think yes. Basically, they are rewarded for not playing (and ostensibly beating) a bad team. That’s really all SOS corrections try to take into account.
I told the people of my district that I would serve them as faithfully as I had done; but if not ... you may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas. -- Davey Crockett

Re-read what was just said by owenh above and then nod your head and go "ohhhhh".
The Baylor team that beat us was led by THE HEISMAN WINNER. Hello? Does anyone see a Heisman candidate taking snaps for us? Ummm,,no. Not this year. We played quite well this year considering where we ended last year. We will be back.
If a man is alone in the woods and he speaks, if no one hears him,,is he still wrong?
Hey, I'm happy to be overranked, for a change.
I guess we took that perennial title away from 0U, this year. Or did we?
Crappy offense doesn't change the fact we have an elite defense
Given how well we can shut down most teams in college football, even with horrid QB play we can still run enough sweeps with Goodwin/Monroe to beat most teams. Just happens to be that a number of the teams with the athletes and offenses good enough to beat us are in the Big XII.
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!
