Your Texas Longhorns will start out the year with the #5 ranking in the nation per the Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll. Texas is the highest ranked Big 12 team, while 3 other schools in Texas are also in the top 10. Preseason Poll here

#3 Stanford (3 game series in Palo Alto in late Feb)
#6 Aggies (Ha Ha Ha Ha!)
#7 Rice (Game 1 of Houston College Classic, 3/2/12)
#8 Arkansas (Game 3 of Houston College Classic 3/4/12)
#10 TCU (Games 1 and 2 of Super Regional....naturally)
#16 OU (3 game series in March)
#22 California (4 game series in Round Rock)
#28 Baylor (3 game series to end regular season)
#35 Texas State (play twice this year, always trouble)

Roughly 38% of our games this year will be against the top 40 teams in the country, and that does not include such teams like Dallas Baptist, Tennessee, Kansas State, Texas Tech, SFA, and Missouri who each received votes, and are quite capable of making a run for the post season.

I like our schedule this yr,

Glad to see were playing Rice this yr. This will all help season the guys for a post season run. Little worried about the pitching, it seems that we lost a lot of key players over the last 2 yrs
