Why NOT Case McCOY !?!

If Case McCoy had started QB tonight, Texas would be up at least 24-0. What does it do to the players to go from McCoy leading hem over A&M to coaches confusing the situation (physically and mentally for the players) and breaking momentum with throwing Ash in intermittently? Then this tonight? Bad coaching decisions - this is just like not putting Chiles in to score the TD when Colt was first injured against Alabama. We need to play the QB who is Best for the next play in THIS GAME - Right HERE - Right NOW! Instead of selfish coaches with confused abstract visions of the future. I wonder if Coach's Contract extension played in factor in who started QB tonight? Answer: It doesn't matter because it was a bad call either way. Put in MCoy NOW!

Wow

The coaches absolutely made the right choice. McCoy would not have been up 24-0. He’s just not that good. He gets lucky and he takes chances. When he’s not lucky he throws 4 picks. There was nothing confusing about tonight. It was Ash all the way, just as it has been most of the season. He’s the QB of the future, until Brewer is ready to go.

David Ash 2011 Holiday Bowl MVP

It should've went to Goodwin

If Ash doesn’t under throw him on a 98 yard touchdown, Goodwin finishes with 2 td catches, over 100 yards receiving and almost 50 rushing

TOTALLY agree!

Ash never should have gotten the MVP. He underthrew several long ones and kept some big plays from happening. I can’t stand it when the media just assumes the QB is the best player on the field. Goodwin, Monroe, or any # of defensive players would have deserved it. All that said, Ash played just fine. I think Case would have played equivalent, as well, and both should have split time.

this is a joke and Bevo Nose is Case’s relative.

The better QB on this team played.

You're mistaken on 2 fronts:
this is just like not putting Chiles in to score the TD when Colt was first injured against Alabama.

It was Sherrod Harris, and he should’ve played that National Championship game.

hahahaha

Where to begin?
How was it selfish of the coaches to think of the future? Wouldn’t it be selfish to win now, and screw the team over for the future? Isn’t the future more important than winning the holiday bowl anyways?

Anyways, Case McCoy is a terrible quarterback. We will never beat OU with him as our starter. This whole post has to be a joke though, right?

Breaking Momentum?

Is this guy serious? He can’t be. In the last 2 quarters Case played, he threw 4 interceptions. Or did I just imagine that Baylor game? That’s not the sort of momentum most of us cared to carry on into our bowl game.

Had the coaches subscribed to this line of thinking ...

… Ash would have never seen the field in this game. He was a pick-machine for awhile there this season.

Case

While I love the McCoy family history at Texas, the best thing that Case can do for Case, is to transfer to another smaller school. He is not a Div 1 level QB and think he would be a great fit at a SHSU or SFA or Texas State.

I hope he proves you wrong.

UT sure would benefit from him doing so.

When did

Beergut change his profile name to Mr. Bevos Nose?

Ash did not play well in the game

Consider the fact that Cal lined up with 8 and 9 men in the box daring us to throw the ball and we were only able to get 1 pass over the top to Goodwin. Who by the way, beat his man all night. We only converted on 1 of their 5 turnovers, Ash almost took a sack in the endzone. He wasn’t good, but he didn’t turn the ball over. So I guess that’s an improvement.

After watching Case throw interception after interception against Baylor, I’m not sure he would’ve been the answer here either.

Or

after watching the game against A&M either.

Ash is a better option. Especially since he got basically no reps in the offseason.
