Alex De La Torre to Texas: 2nd 2012 Commit

There hasn't been much doubt for some time that Denton Ryan linebacker Alex De La Torre would likely commit on the spot if offered. When news broke on Friday that he was coming in on Saturday, a sure sign of an early offer and likely commitment -- recall that Jaxon Shipley, Chet Moss, and Taylor Doyle all committed on the day before the first Texas Junior Day last year -- there was even less doubt.

So it was small surprise then when multiple sites confirmed DLT's commitment minutes before the Texas basketball game against Baylor tipped. DLT is the second commitment of the class, joining Connor Brewer. Aledo running back Johnathan Gray is also in town currently, but is much less likely to make a decision Saturday. Still, good news for the Longhorns.

Instant analysis and scouting report on DLT later.
