Jungmann Shuts Down Hawaii, Game Two Open Thread

Stay connected for news and updates

Taylor Jungmann followed up his first career complete game shutout against Maryland with his second career complete game shutout against Hawaii in a 2-0 Texas win. Jungmann gave up only four hits and a HBP while striking out nine and throwing 110 pitches. Freshmen Mark Payton and Erich Weiss combined for four of the Texas seven hits and the Horns were able to capitalize just enough on four Hawaii errors.

It'll be Cole Green on the mound today looking to rebound from a rough first outing against Maryland. Texas is getting it done so far this season without much offensive contribution from Jonathan Walsh and Tant Shepherd (.136 and .176 respectively), so hopefully that will change soon. Hell, even Jordan Etier (.067) has a long way to go just to meet the low expectation of him. A win today would be very nice as it would clinch a road series against a not-so-bad opponent. First pitch at 7 PM Central tonight; no video for this one, but free audio is available here.
