Johnathon Gray
I see where Gray was invited to Junior Day. Rivals has Texas in the hunt with three of the usual suspects, OU, Tech and A & M. Has anyone any insight into where he is leaning. Eight td's in a championship final is hard to ignore. He looks much more polished and faster than Malcolm Brown.
I watched his dad on the sideline at the championship game. He looks like he could still play. I have not heard if he is leaning toward Tech, where I believe his dad is an assistant coach.

That sure is a stretch, but you have to take what you can get.

Not sure that's a gun
Looks more like a #1, which would obviously mean Texas since we are the #1 school in the country. (I still cannot figure out why the Sooners called me arrogant).
This one will be played close to the vest
like the Jeffcoat situation was two years ago.
Gray (Sr.) has been through the recruiting game. Gray (Jr.) can pick his school on signing day next February, and may wait until after his 2011 season to make a decision. No reason to rush to commit with every school telling him, "Now, please. But we’ll have a spot later on . . . "
I expect the Grays to see what we can put on the field in terms of an offensive style . . . and blocking skill . . . and what Brown, Shead, etc., show they can do. I’m not going to get too hung up on any individual player; we won a MNC without Adrian Peterson. OU got him and didn’t win one when he was there.
Gimme.

I'm certainly no expert
But I don’t think you have much to worry about with respect to OU. They’re really looking more at a couple in-state kids (shocking, I know) and don’t seem to be that high on Gray.

I think
OU knows how loaded they are at RB already and doesn’t see the point of wasting time trading punches with Texas for Gray, who would probably end up picking UT anyway. They have a few in state targets at RB I believe?
They do, but not the #1 kid for 2012
So will UT make it three years in a row w/ Barry Sanders Jr?

His father is not a coach at Texas Tech ...
… and TCU is also in the running for his services.
Although his father is a graduate of Texas Tech
which could go a long way, given the circumstances.

Then that's not exactly a small connection
It’s a point of pride, but I do think when you’ve got the talent that Gray’s got, it’s a bit different than your average player so we can probably down play that a little.
TEXAS FIGHT
Gray's shoulder surgeries
Its a little troubling that he had 2 surgeries already. Does anyone know how serious they were/are?
Look Like There's "Major" Interest in Trey Williams
As in Applewhite kind of Major. He’s been to Dekaney several times and has worked hard on that relationship. This will be a fun run for sure. I’m hoping the Brewer Commitment will divert the energy now and seal one of these guys up.
was Trey Williams the one with the myspace that was nothing but bloods and crips and shooting my gat and pimpin my hoes type of mentality? I remember it was one of the top backs in this year’s class.. not Johnathan Gray tho.

read up on JS writeup on the TB situation for 2012...
…i think hes saying j gray might be connected to agents/money hungry bitches…and that texas might not offer based on the questionable methods of recruiting that would be needed to land him…
