After a wild finish yesterday in which the Kansas State bullpen simply melted down, walking in the tying run in the ninth before doing the same for the winning run in the tenth, Texas has a chance to open conference play with a sweep of the Wildcats. Hoby Milner was fantastic in the 4-3 win, going seven innings and allowing only five hits. He set down the final 11 batters he faced before handing the game over to the bullpen combo of Kirby Bellow, Kendal Carrillo, and Corey Knebel. Those three kept K-State at three runs to give the Longhorn hitters a chance. They took advantage of that opportunity, albeit with patience rather than actual, you know, hitting.
Once again, we recognize that the focus today is rightly on hoopin' ball, so we're keeping this brief. Video as always is here and this will be your open thread. First pitch is at 1:00 CDT.
