Texas Longhorns at Baylor Bears: WIN! WIN! WIN!
In a night when LaceDarius Dunn became the Big 12 all time leading scorer, your Texas Longhorns appeared to find their legs in the second half winning 60-54. It was a gutty performance as the 'Horns appeared to struggle again offensively. But as we saw earlier this season, the Longhorns are a defensive team first and foremost. Once the defensive engine got churning, they found enough offense to pull out the W against the Scott Drew led Bears.
The Longhorns finish the conference season at 13-3 and earn the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament. Texas will play the winner of No. 7 Baylor and No. 10 Oklahoma in the second round in Kansas City. Game time is set for 6 pm on Thursday evening. (Big 12 tournament bracket)
Game balls to Gary Johnson for his second half defense on Dunn, to Tristan Thompson for being a man among boys on the glass, and to Alexis Wangmene for clutch free throw shooting and a big time offensive rebound in the final minute.
This is your celebration thread. Hook 'em Horns!

A great team win...
I didn’t know Wangmene was a free throw shooter. It was nice to see the defense back with the offensive rebounding and a comeback in the second half. Even with some blow out wins earlier before the three losses there were some weak second halves. When shooting 33% getting a win on the road is sweet. Hook em!
Barnes is a genius
GJ on Dunn…we will be talking about that years from now.

Can't say I was pleased with every minute of that game
but am very much so with the outcome, specifically:
- Wangmene: great 2nd half spark with clutch rebound(s) and consistent free throws
- Transition: I’ve said it many times, but when we get down court quickly, we open up great position and great looks, throwing off the tempo of the opponent
- Defense – better in the 1st, but our dominance still resides in our pressure and hiding open looks for the the likes of Dunn & Acy. Was hoping to see more blocks from TT, but a couple worth note in this one.
Free-throws still the monkey on our back. While I am realistic in assuming that the team won’t suddenly improve as a whole, I can hope that we will be more strategic in who we send to the line, which I feel will hinder most opponents’ aggression on D.
Great win to wrap up the regular season. Love that it was Baylor and that we likely smoldered Scott Drew’s NCAA hopes. Good season overall – here’s to March and a great last Big XII tourney.

Proved again this is not last yrs team for both teams
Texas much better chemistry and mental toughness, especially hammy for sticking to the plan
Baylor no defense aside from occasionally getting a way with fouls & no pg play

Uhhhh...well I guess a win equals success and is a step in the right direction.
Good effort on Defensive end tonight. Unfortunately, it was another abysmal offensive performance. Hamilton, Joseph and Johnson have got to find their shooters’ touch again soon. I will pray for them. Amen.
"I asked Darrell Royal, the coach of the Texas Longhorns, why he didn’t recruit me and he said: "Well, Walt, we took a look at you and you weren’t any good.

Amazed...
That barnes made some actual adjustments in the 2nd half like putting GJ on Dunn… that changed things alot since Dunn had a hard time shooting over GJ and the team showed good help D when Dunn got by GJ
We missed Wangmeme against Colorado badly… needed an extra body that game and his free throw shooting could have helped alot

horns win
great win. However, they wont get very far in march madness if they dont pick it up!
Great
I remain worried about FTs.
On a brighter note, if we win the tournament we are a lock for a 2 seed; if we get two wins, we are a legitimate 2 seed.
Actually
Since Duke lost again, ESPN is now saying that the last 1 seed is a toss up between us, Notre Dame and BYU… and it will depend on who does better in their conference tourney.
UNC winning the ACC just boosted our resume big time since we beat ’em. If we can reach the Big 12 finals we still have a shot for the last 1 seed and if we win it, i think we get it
