so remind me what are starting 5 will be next year?

can we get any juco transfers to fill the huge void in the middle?

I think the upcoming recruiting class has the potential to fill the voids of the departed. Having the potential and actually pull it off are obviously two different things.

Johnathan Holmes and Clint Chapman are going to have to step it up to fill TT’s void. JH shoes may be a little easier to fill.

Possible Depth Chart??

(at least to start the season….)

PG: Joseph, Kabongo
SG: Brown, McClellon, Lewis
SF: McClellon
PF: Holmes, Thomas
“C”: Wangmene/Chapman

That leaves us with an extremely young team except for at center, which is definitely a huge question mark.

Sally, will you meet me at the airport?

*young but very talented may I add

Also, kind of small

Holmes is supposedly 6’8", but that’s questionable. If he’s not, then he and Wangmene at 6’7" are the tallest guys besides Chapman. It’s hard to get very excited about the “bigs.”

If TT & Jordan leave ...

… I don’t think Rick’s gonna have much of a choice otherwise. It’ll be great come tourney-time. Think of the Mays-Blanks-Wright era ’Horns. All they did was overachieve.

I feel like we will have to play that quite often

which I wouldn’t really mind. Kind of reminds me of the Villanova team a few years back that had good success with a lineup that often included 4 guards at a time

agreed

I would love to see a line up full of shooters with elite/smart passers (Kabongo, Brown, AND Joseph) giving them the ball. Works for me. The problem will come on post defense.

Really defense in general

The loss of Balbay really hurts, and while Joseph is a really good perimeter defender, we still don’t know for sure what Myck can do in that department, and J’Covan is really gonna struggle defensively. On offense though, I think Rick should (and hopefully will) let these guys really get after it in transition offense and it could make for some entertaining basketball.

but especially post defense

If this goes down we have only Lexi and Chapman as bigs. On the entire team. Do you have any idea what this means? It means we’re going to get slaughtered in points in the paint and the guards will have to take up slack both rebounding and scoring. Maybe we need to set everybody up with Bennie Wylie.

Holmes and Thomas will play, they’ll have to, but just looking at it with only players who are known quantities it doesn’t look good inside next year.

We have a 12th man and he's Bryan Harsin

Oh I definitely agree with you

Our lack of depth and size inside looks to be pretty scary.

Isn't this the same guy who said Randy Shannon was our new DC?

I think i’ll wait for confirmation. Lets hope he’s wrong again.
