The Big 12 Tournament got started bright and early this morning with a 6-2 Oklahoma State victory over Baylor. The tournament has returned to a traditional double-elimination format this season after spending several years in the round robin wilderness, so Baylor will play the loser of Texas' 12:30 game against Mizzou. Missouri, as you may recall, is the last team Texas managed to sweep in the regular season and they snuck into the tournament as the 8-seed. The Longhorns enter as the top overall seed in the tournament, and it is our position that anything better than a two-and-out should be sufficient to guarantee a top-eight national seed and thus a Super Regional hosting if they can get past the sub-regional round next week. However, in order to really solidify that status it would be a good idea for Texas to announce its presence with authority in OKC this weekend but taking care of the Tigers and moving on to play the Cowboys.
