I have seen this said just about everywhere there is talks of Aggies leaving. That they go SEC, OU/Okie Light and Tech go PAC and Texas gets what they want, Independence.  But that brings something up, where has UT ever said that they want to go Independent? Yes, they want a network, but that does not equate Independence.  Even with the ESPN contract it does not really look like Independence unless that is what you are looking for.  I honesty have never seen the University mention or even hint at wanting Independence. The only place this is ever seen is from the fans of  other schools, mainly Aggies, who keep saying that is what we want.  I think if push comes to shove, UT will be willing to adapt to get into any conference of their choice if the conference was dying, and not go Indy.

So Is there any place where Texas has said they want to go Indy or is it just others trying to put words in UT's mouth?
