"The 2005 National Championship - the only title, it should be further noted, to go untainted by NCAA scandal in the past nine years"
-quote from Austin Monthly Magazine

Kinda sorta
Reggie Bush lost his Heisman, but he also lost the game.
The only thing I could come up with for the 2006 - 2009 SEC run would be oversigning
2010 Auburn has the Newton scandal. Then you have the 2004/2003 USC mess. I don’t know about 2003 LSU.
2001 Miami scandals might be coming into light just now….
2000 OU, 2002 OSU anyone?
2000 OU was over 9 years ago.
The comment was “… in the last nine years.”
My Sooner friends like to point out that the 2000 team was the only Sooner team to be awarded a national championship without some sort of scandal attached to the feat. I usually counter with the fact that it was Stoops’ second years, so his juniors and seniors were recruited by John Blake… and we all know what kind of guy he is.
For those unaware of Blake’s exploits, see North Carolina and their current mess.
That's true. Still leaves me with question marks about 2002 - 2003, and 2006 - 2009.
Also, if the Sooners are clean in 2000, and this quote is true, that means the Big 12 has the only two titles that are clean in the 2000’s.
However…. there are still a lot of years that I just haven’t seen any “scandal”. Mostly from the SEC side of things.
