Report: Longhorn Network Close to Deal With Time Warner Cable
As the Friday launch of the Longhorn Network draws ever closer -- as well as the opener against Rice, the fledgling network still does not have any major carriers inked to distribution deals. According to a report from Culture Map Austin, Time Warner Cable may be close to a deal to carry the network. Comcast may be close as well on the heels of a Sports Business Journal report that Austin-area provider Grande has or will soon announce a deal. For DirecTV, however, a deal may not happen this year.
