Dime,

I can’t believe you would post a picture of RGIII and not mention PB’s man-crush on him, a man-crush surpassed only, I believe, by his love of the Mythical Fozzy Creature. Shame on you.

Any talk down there that if Mack were to quit in the

OT: Big 12 Conference Stability

With A&M leaving, I don’t believe that it is right to label the Big 12 conference as instable. NU left because of their Big heads. CU got spooked. A&M with a mediocre athletic department got jealous of Texas’ success and can easily be replaced. A&M needs Texas more than Texas needs A&M. Let us not forget that A&M is in the middle of nowhere Texas. A&M will suffer from lack of visiting teams fans that helps boost the economy of Bryan/College Station. With A&M playing fewer is state rivals, and lack of success in the SEC, recruits will stop looking at A&M.

But the precedent is set

I guess the PAC 16 is more likely due to needing to carry OSU versus the SEC.

Did you see the comment from the OU president regarding a decision will be made regarding multiple offers in as little as 3 days and not longer than 3 weeks?

by mtntrance on Sep 2, 2011 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions

OU

OU just looking at options. Doesn’t mean they will leave. Texas has done the same thing. Aren’t they tied at the hip with OSU? Big 12 is still plenty strong without the Aggies. They can be replaced along with NU & CU. Notre Dame could fit in the Big 12 and would allow them to keep their NBC contract. Other replacements could be Colorado State, New Mexico/NM State, Louisville or Memphis. Given time and improved recruiting and money, any of the above schools can be competitive and strong conference members. Don’t underestimate the importance of close regional conference members and sway game travels.

So for any folks just joining the action...

how have these teams looked? Has TCU’s defense taken a step back from last year or is there legit reason for concern again this year vs Baylor?

Ricky. Would that be Ricky Williams,

the guy who got 43 yards in 25 attempts against K-State in 1998, the year he won the Heisman?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/college/stats/1998/players/rushing/17437.html

That K-State defense was in the top 3 all-time for the Big 12, if not the best. It gave up 3 (three) rushing touchdowns in the regular season.

From SI’s pre-season predictions:

McCartney
TCU’s defense will become the first to rank No. 1 in the nation in four straight seasons. Its top two tacklers are gone, but it has star power with linebackers Tank Carder and Tanner Brock and a schedule with two teams whose offenses were better than 36th in scoring in 2010.
