I know we are on realignment overload now, and at this point it's becoming an annoying distraction. But, in my opinion, it is a fascinating distraction. Now, this story breaks.
Last year, we stayed in the Big XII, and so the sooners followed suit. If we had gone to the Pac-16, they would've done the same. I've heard the theory thrown around lately that Texas has basically handed the save-or-destroy-the-Big-XII decision to oklahoma this time. In light of David Boren's comments, it seems this might be true. I'd imagine Dodds/UT is sick of being painted as a money-grubbing conference-killing villain after saving the entire Big XII North division from complete athletic irrelevance last year, and might not want the spotlight on Austin this time around. If this is indeed Dodds' move, I'm not sure what I think about it, but it is definitely interesting.
Again, sorry for the realignment overload. Football is on now though. I predict a Waco miracle. Go Bears.
