Christo Kourtzidis cancels Texas visit
It was quite the run that Texas had with FSU commit Christo Kourtzidis, the tight end from California who receive an in-home visit from Major Applewhite on Tuesday night, decided Wednesday that he would visit Texas, then decided Thursday that he would not be making the trip after all.
Score one for Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State coaching staff, who likely worked since Tuesday to keep Kourtzidis from visiting Austin and apparently managed to do so prior to an in-home visit Thursday evening.
So that's that for that, leaving Mesquite Horn tight end Vincent Hobbs as the only remaining target at the position. Hobbs will be visiting Austin this weekend, but it's not clear at this time whether or not he will receive an offer.

Try to land the best talent available
If it doesn’t work, at least we tried. Best of luck to him.
Glad to see Texas going national on attempting to get the best talent.
We're Texas, We're not OK.
C'est la vie
I was not excited about Kourtzidis and even less so by Hobbs. I would much rather take 0 TEs this year and take a couple good ones next year.
4 scholarship TEs + Daniels is more than enough to go into 2012 with.
It's a nice change of pace
To see UT going OOS after kids. The lots o rejection is new to us, but at least we are finally going after what we consider the best kids for our system.

Are you a Shipley?
Jaxon was talking up MJ pretty heavy before the bowl game.

Gah I wish.
Although my golden retriever is named Shipley (see what I did there), I am, unfortunately, not. I just have a lot of hope in MJ. He has good size, good hands, decent mobility, and I hope he can become a serviceable blocker.
Jeez
How long has it been since we had a tight end?
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.
It's always something.
If it’s not one thing it’s another.
Waiting for the next Vince, next Colt
The next Ricky or Jamal
The next Ross & Griffen
The next Big Roy or Shipley (Oh wait)
C’mon Dave Thomas or Finley!

Any word on whether or not Christian Morgan has a JD invite yet?
The kid just seems like everything you want in a blocking tight end.
No invite yet.

Who the hell is
Christo Kortzidis? And why do we care if he comes to Austin or not?
Do we need to ship something?
