I'm not a fan of having all of these bowls on a Monday afternoon
January 1st is a national holiday. January 2nd is another day at the office.
undefeated in Sun Belt play
Microsoft would find it difficult to compete with the NFL, college football wouldn't stand a chance.

Here's something I was just wondering last week...
Why is the NFL so afraid to play games Christmas Day, even if Christmas is a Sunday — the NFL seems to honor the 24 hours between sundown Christmas Eve and sundown Christmas night when most businesses are dark — but the NBA powers right on through and plays all day Christmas Day?
When you find out
I’ll be at my Whataburger, eating an A1 Thick N Hearty burger, so we can discuss.
Maybe the hierarchy is:
The Beatles
The NBA
Jesus
The NFL
On a serious note, I’ve referred a few people to you for holiday photos, I should call them and see if they went with you.
Did you read my comment, or did you merely see that it disagreed and begin composing your response immediately? by BrooklynHorn
I had the same thought
The NBA is a direct competitor to the NFL, and really the NFL could have destroyed the NBA’s opening day festivities if it had held its penultimate round of regular season games the same day. Even had they not known about the lock-out, the NBA generally puts marquee match-ups Christmas Day regardless. Seems a missed opportunity from a business standpoint.
Strange that I can't remember this having happened in my youth.
Back in the day all the important games were on January 1, and had that fallen on a Sunday there would have been a rather large dilemma. Yet, I don’t remember that happening.
I think this has always been the case...
…with “always” being defined by “in my living memory,” which goes back to the late 70s.
Wow
Welcome back…I’ve missed your work. Do you only post in the off season?
GO EVERY TEAM
thats playing against a SEC team. The media hype machine needs to be brought down a bit. Sure they’re on top now, but some talking heads make it seem as if all 12 teams are powerhouses, same goes for their fans. Also, I think some OkState players play uninspired and they lose this game.

Actually, the Big 12 is leading in bowl wins his year. I wonder what the SEC-loving sports pundits will do with that one.

The answer to your sig line is yes.
I don’t watch much other than news channels and sports so there’s no contest for me.
OSU needs to win this. I’m so tired of the they just aren’t a really good team narrative. The Pokes deserve more respect than that.

B/12 gets the win; SEC would have gotten the loss
oh hail the Purple and White
SEC and the school formerly associated with the great state of Texas
are no longer of any concern or interest to me. If it wins,,,I care not. If it loses,,I care not (but secretly giggle).
If a man is alone in the woods and he speaks, if no one hears him,,is he still wrong?
Big 12 5-1 so far, SEC 2-1....
Wonder why so many Big 12 teams are in bowls??? Oh ya, maybe because the Big 12 was actually the strongest conference this year.
Missed ya Dime! Good to see you back
“Oh ya, maybe because the Big 12 was actually the strongest conference this year.”
How dare you besmirch God’s conference? There is no way the Big 12 is EVER better than the SEC.

If you doubt that, take a humor break on texags, com
I’ve learned all kinds of things there today – that the EssEeeCee will soon get a third BCS bowl, and that the B12 faces imminent loss of AQ status, thereby relegating their champ to the Cotton Bowl.
Could this “arrogance” the agroids always refer to be nothing more than keeping our mouths shut unless we know what we are talking about? In most instances? :)
I would advise you to stay away from TexAgs and AgTimes. (They may actually be the same message board?) Just logging on causes your IQ to drop five points.

So how are we supposed to choose between the Okie Lite game and the premier of The Bachelor Season 734?

You get your drama and tears with both.
Just depends which setting you prefer. ;-)

I am very torn about this but...
after hearing all the SEC love this year (all time high obviously) I refuse to cheer for any SEC team…hence the torture of hoping Nebraska wins. I know…this game just sucks
Remember the meteor from a couple of years ago? Yes, that’s my dilemma today. I don’t know who I detest more, the Cornwhiners or an SEC team.

OU having team troubles!???
Those good ole’ family realitives that are OU fans and TAM fans can give you some good Info every now and then! It sounds like OU is in for some serious set backs for next season! Stoops is losing a number of seniors but also had to kick off a number of underclassmen just before there bowl game. They wern’t going to class and skiping practices. 3 to 4 of them were DL, 2 WR’s, some RB’s and more to come from other positions. According to OU fans, its going to be a house cleaning for them and could be a lot of players they were expecting to have start for OU next season. I’ve never seen these OU fans concerned like this before! Few even said it could be the type of house cleaning that takes years to come back from. Recruits have even stated that they saw and heard very negative things coming from OU players.
Love what you do Dime
But why did I just watch an old clip of Texas losing???
I just love old game clips.
Even though we lost, this game is big in CF history because of Ernie Davis. There’s no way to know just how good he could have been. What a loss.

Man they did a horrible job with scheduling these games today.
They couldn’t have scheduled 1 of the 12pm games for 2pm
Exactly.

Unfortunately, it was the plan
BCS uber alles.
Question:
Is S. Carolina’s QB, Connor Shaw, the guy who transferred from UT in the last couple of years? If not, who was the guy y’all complain about transferring when GG got the nod?
With all the Connor’, Colt’s, Case and similar names down there, I can’t keep up.
oh hail the Purple and White
Don't think so
I believe you are thinking of Connor Wood who transferred to Colorado at the beginning of the season.

That's it - I knew you had a Connor who left
Isn’t the hot shot coming in next year also named Connor?
I mean, WTF is the deal with these names, going back to Major Applewhite? :)

so Wisconsin or Oregon?
i think i want Wisconsin to win and i think we all want OK State to win after they got shafted

…the BCS Championship Game in the Rose Bowl Stadium trumps. With the later start, imagine the goosebumps of pregame exhilaration at the very same time you’re enjoying the sun setting. Nothing in North American sports can possibly match it.
this might be the highest scoring Rose Bowl in history

OSU Offense looks very flat
and their D just gave up a huge bomb…please don’t let this be an OSU fail
We had Millan up here destroying the Lions for years and listening to him makes me want to try to gargle peanut butter !
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize
Why does ESPN keep Millan around?
90% of what comes out of his mouth is simply inane, and yet he thinks he sounds smart. I am pissed that he’s on the Cowboy game.
oh hail the Purple and White
Blackmon is a beast
let’s all hope he goes pro

He just said in the post-game interview that he'll go in the draft
Ah well. Someone else will be the new Blackmon, just like he was the new Bryant, who was the new Bowman, who was…
You get the idea.

Yes, how does Cowboy keep coming up with these receivers?
Okie Lite was lucky, but good. I hadn’t watched Stanford that much, so I didn’t realize just how damn good Luck is at QB. Has to be the smartest guy to play the position in years. Fantastic decision maker and has a real feel for the game. The number of really good QBs in college football anymore is something to appreciate.
oh hail the Purple and White
So that's what it looks like
A receiver who fights for the ball. What a concept! Like the concept of a walk-on setting you up to win it?
I think a lot of it's system with the OSU receivers
I don’t honestly feel like Dez Bryant or Justin Blackmon has more natural talent than a lot of less productive guys.
As for those good QBs, yep, and it seems like most of them are coming from Texas. If only the flagship school of that state were still concerned with developing one of them.

You don't think UT is concerned about developing a QB?
Proud of your offense? Manny badger don't give a shit!
Splitting hairs
UT is obviously concerned about it, but failing procedurally.

Basically I'm saying that the amazing QB talent coming out of Texas high schools is making good at some schools...
…but the state’s flagship university is failing at being one such school these days.

Big 12 is now 6-1 in Bowl games
KSU needs to show up in the Cotton and shut the SEC up for awhile. ( I wish I were more confident).
