If you were the head coach how would you recruit?

PrintAre there certain positions more valuable than others...no matter the football scheme/style a team uses?
1 five star
10 four star
11 three star...
what positions would you feel with the four and five star recruits. Assume you have an equal need at each position. Which positions do you fill with your best recruits.
I say my 5 star goes on the qb; eight of my 4 stars goes to my offensive and defensive front 4, one four star goes to RB, and one to DB.....and all the remaining 11 three star positions goes to dt,og, fb, te, ss, ss, db, lb, lb, lb,
Do some positions' value never change?? for example is your defense SDE and offensive LT always a 4 or 5 star??

Rush the passer play good defense
Run game travels well too especially when you have a good offensive line.
With a decent QB and some wide outs to stretch the field lots of potential to win games there.
Corners are the weakness of the team but if you have a good pass rush you can cover it up.

And then after I have saved up a lot of money I will pay players to come play for me a la Cam Newton

from within
the 4* would be 2 Safeties 3 Corners, 2 DT’s, 2 G’s 1 Center and 1 tackle
The 3* would be one TE, 3 Wr’s 1 RB, 3 LB’s and 3 DL
5* QB
Your team has 13 defensive players
And only 9 offensive players. That 5-3-5 defense would be stout, but it may be hard to win games with only 1 OT. It’s an interesting strategy nonetheless.

kicker/QB
You need to recruit at QB and kicker. The QB makes the rest of the players better and a great punter can give you 10 yards a possession and great placekicker can give you a lot of points every season. And development of punter/placekickers are a little more predictable than OLs/DLs or QBs.
