How about that? 2 Horns atop the West
As we've all lamented Barnes has been close many times. A player here or there (um Durant? Aldridge?) hangs around one extra year and we might have some real banners hanging at the Erwin. Clearly it wasn't meant to be. Still, pretty remarkable that it's Aldridge v Durant at this point for supremacy in the West. Hook em.

Love Barnes
He really helps these kids and brings tremendous athletes thru Austin. However, I really believe he will never ever win a title under today’s circumstances. The reality is he does not develop talent and chemistry quickly enough, and the “one and done” environment kills him. He tends to need to break guys down for a while before building them up, and just cannot complete the cycle in one year.
Change isn't good or bad it just "is". Don Draper of Madmen
Nailed it completely
he might have to reconsider his recruiting strategy and intentionally pass on one-and-done candidates. He might have already started that given this most recent class

Give him time.
Barnes is a great coach and I have faith that with time he will eventually have a shot at a couple of championships.
