So how does this work, does he count towards our 2011 class?
Hopefully this wouldn’t impact taking the maximum possible recruits not that we would get them all. Recruits including: DGB, MEJ, Armstead (Longshot) and Torshiro Davis (Longshot)
He is supposed to be a walk on
shoudl have no implications on scholarship limits
I don't know the rules
“Preferred walk-on” means he doesn’t count against the 25 or 85 limits . . . I’m guessing he’ll be a walk-on for at least a year.
But, if we’re under 25 in the Class of 2012, and if attrition opens a spot or two on the 85, maybe he goes on scholly next summer.
Either way, I can’t get excited. Scholarship kickers can be Hunter Lawrence or Justin Tucker. Or, they can be Trevor Gerland or William Russ.
I like this move,
as Texas had to do something to find a punter next season and it looks like Rose could be the guy. Obviously, he is still unproven, but if he can punt for Texas in 2012, he could provide a huge boost.

Like the move, have my doubts we're looking at '12's punter
Mack has loads of walk-ons.The staff culls the list and keeps a handful of kickers around. Some develop into starters, most do not.
A true frosh handling kicking duties makes me queasy. And seems unlikely. But my $5 mil per year salary isn’t at stake
Well, there's a chance......
that we have a QB named Wallace, a backup named Ash who can double as punter, no, maybe?
