West Virginia Remains Undefeated, Outpaces Texas 48-45

Texas had its chances, but stumbled late, as West Virginia (5-0) closed out the Longhorns for a 48-45 victory in Austin (4-1).

Time and again, the Texas defense came close to holding West Virginia, limiting the Mountaineers to just 3 of 12 on 3rd down on the night. But that wasn't enough against Geno Smith, who time and again converted on 4th down (5-for-5 for the game) to keep the Mountaineers moving.

There were things to like about the way the Longhorns played, and things to criticize, but for now it's enough to say that West Virginia was just the better team tonight. Congrats to Smith and Co. for an impressive win.

This is your post-game commiseration thread.
