Saturday's game against the team that has owned us even more than Oklahoma (at least that's how it feels) is a big one because it dictates not only our bowl berth, but the future of our coaching staff.
Win, and we still have an outside chance at the Cotton Bowl (damn prestigious, and a nice recruiting tool for DFW, which we are notoriously bad at covering). At the very least, we could wind up in the Alamo Bowl. Alas, a win might also mean that not one coach is fired and we carry our habits, and thus results, into next season, thus pushing us further into irrelevance, wining and recruiting behing both hated rivals like OU and A&M in addition to Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Oregon. You know, programs that develop players and bring intensity to the field...even if you may hate them.
Lose, and wind up in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. (That is not a joke). Alas, it would invariably mean Manny would be fired. If we lose by a little it would definitely invigorate Mack to come back and "get it fixed." If we get absolutely destroyed the boosters might be so frustrated that Mack would get on Dodds to start looking for a replacement after next season....if not sooner.
