Why is the sky not falling on MACK BROWN right now? Why isn't there ANY contemplation or talk about FIRING him before the end of the season? This year has been an ABSOLUTE and TOTAL collapse from a coaching standpoint in ALL aspects - gameday preparation, toughness, fundamentals, player development, conditioning and probably even WARM-UPS (judging by the rash of injuries to critical players). Furthermore, Texas has played only TWO RANKED TEAMS this year...and LOST both games.
1. Lee Corso said it best on Gameday this morning: "When a team gives up on its coach, it starts with the defense." The majority of the experts/analysts had this Texas D ranked #1/#2 in the nation. Is it possible that they were that far off? Could it be that they were all so wrong in their assessment? I don't think so. The players are just NOT PLAYING. They're unmotivated, unafraid of repercussions, lethargic and simply don't care.
2. Is K-State's pound-for-pound talent superior to Texas'? What about Oklahoma's? Are their players faster, stronger, smarter? Absolutely not. The difference, by logical inference, is COACHING!
This has been an absolute COLLAPSE and keeping Mack Brown
beyond this year would be CRIMINAL! He lacks the basic coaching attributes, like the ability to motivate players and get the most out of them. His knowledge of Xs and Os is average at best. He piggybacked in 2004/2005 (thanks to a phenom QB who directed the team off and on the field and called his own plays) and another born winner QB in 2008/09 who willed his way to victory in an often miraculous fashion.
15 years of top talent in the country and TWO CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS won not BECAUSE of him but DESPITE of him.
Do the right thing...allowing Muschamp to walk was a critical mistake...let's not prolong the misery. WAKE UP!
