All of Longhorn nation mourns today with the passing of legendary football coach Darrell K. Royal. Known affectionately as DKR, he gave rise to one of the most impressive college football dynasty's in the history of the sport.

His long suffering and debilitating battle with Alzheimer's has finally come to an end. Thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family, the University of Texas and all the people he meant so much to and touched in his 88 years.
