This time he follows the DGB recruitment....calls Mack "The Picture Guy". Is it me or does this guy wear out his welcome everywhere he goes? Every year he is with a different media outlet.

That's wrong on so many levels

to text somebody on bad news

What’s not to love? Especially when you see how I party, it was epic. The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards and all of them look like droopy-eyed armless children"

Of course it's worth mentioning that this is a Thayer Evans article

So it’s anyone’s guess how true any of its claims are.

Isn't Thayer usually partial to OU

I love how the fans at the game were just so polite not to crazy. His other piece on J-Mac girls were romancing each other and everyone was drinking far to much, yet at the OU party nobody was drinking excessively it was just a great environment to be around.

Eh, from my pov

He made an OU game sound boring.

Isn't every game boring

Except the one in Dallas every year?

You may have a point...

When you’ve only lost 3 in the last 13 years, winning starts to lose a little excitement…

Ahem, get it right?!

You’ve lost FOUR of ’em in the last 13 years, thank you very much. Us ’Horns must cling to any shred of dignity we can muster … and your dominance is ruining your math skills.

… or you’ve lost 12 out of the last 22 … but who’s counting?! We’re all friends here, right?

I thought it was actually a pretty good read.

And he made it clear that the family respected Mack.

I don’t read the article disrespectful at all, vanterminator. I think it was just time to tell Mack, and they just wanted to be done with it. After months of hard-sell recruiting, it was probably just a relief to be done.

Oh. Aggies, I apologize; I forgot you were there. You may go now.

Agree with you

I came away thinking if it had been up to Mr. & Mrs. Beckham, DGB would be a Longhorn right now.

I have it on good authority that if you type "Google" into Google, you can break the Internet. So please, no one try it, even for a joke. It's not a laughing matter. You can break the Internet.

Hard to say.

Can’t fault a kid for wanting to stay close to home. I’m sure his parents aren’t going to complain about that.

hard to believe OU would use negative recruiting tactics:
Besides Arkansas’ graduation rate, Tracy Beckham was also worried about Petrino "having a little reputation," which she hesitated to discuss.

"It’s what everybody will tell you, that he left his team in midseason," she said in reference to Petrino’s resignation in 2007 as coach of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons after 13 games to take his current job. "There are other teams that bring that up a lot."

Oklahoma did so the most, Tracy Beckham said.

That's funny, I said 2 days ago if we didn't land DGB

Would Thayer Evans do a hit piece on TEXAS

I will admit

I don’t recall ever reading anything from this Thayer, I did read this one and I didn’t get that this was a hit piece on Texas. Sounded to me that Texas was in it for quite a while. Could have turned out different if not for the distance. I do disagree with offers of schollys to other family members as a way to lure DGB, seems sleezy to me, and I hope Texas made no such offers. Also thought it was kinda funny that allowing DGB to sit in Pinkels chopper was illegal as I had ? on post pre NSD about that photo. All in all I thought the article answered several ? about the behind the scenes recruiting of DGB. If these answers are accurrate.

I made that statement before reading the some of the article

I would agree, I didn’t think he did a JMac on us. I could of swore he did a hit piece after the D. Scott commit to CU

Not 1 mention of Wyatt

I thought Wyatt was recruiting DGB pretty hard

DGB

I believe we would have been in Texas, because all signs point too Mr Beckham wanting him to go there plus at the NSD .He didn’t really seem really fired up about the Missouri commitment shit he didn’t even smile about it but Tracy was super happy

by KingMack on Feb 2, 2012 5:15 PM CST reply actions

Don't believe anything about it

I don’t believe the booster stuff about Arkansas. Evans is a lying douchebag and I feel dirty for even clicking the link and giving him a hit. This guy is such a liar that he should not be allowed to cover the sport.
And, I don’t believe for one moment the Beckhams gave him 1 smidge of insider information. That goes against the way they handled the entire recruitment.

We're Texas, We're not OK.
