Sundays with Bill, Blue Chip Wave Edition
Texas was busy this week. After not landing a single commitment at the First Junior Day Texas got on a roll landing Jake Oliver, A'Shawn Robinson, Tyrone Swoopes and Kyle Hicks in consecutive days. All 4 were Texas' top targets at their respected positions. Texas is far from slowing down. RSJ is expected to commit to the Horns on Wednesday afternoon.
Talking points:
* Texas ends the QB debate, and signs Tyrone Swoopes. Huge get, but is the staff done at the position? J.T. Barrett is expected to be at JD2.
* A'Shawn Robinson pulls the shocker and commits to Texas early.
* Jake Oliver picks Texas. Darrell Wyatt is cashing in.
* Kyle Hicks went from a possible DB evaluation to a Texas' top RB target. How did the fast rising junior get here?
* The Second Junior Day looms large. Favorites for offers, Bill's Guys. I have an updated list.
* The County Fair is in swing. I'll share my thoughts. Spring ball begins February 28th.
"Theo:"So Kareem rebounds, right? Feeds Worthy on the break, over to A.C., to Magic, then back to Worthy! Right? "

Lots of WRs...
If RSJ is a Horn on Wed, do you think any of them will get offers?
Track meet and baseball tourney? Does that mean they were invited but won’t show?

They might show
I think Texas is probably down at WR going into JD2. Massington is the best out of the JD2 group.

Jarrett was not paying his fair share of rent, according to the NCAA, for the place he and Leinart were living in. NCAA nailed USC because Matt Leinart (rather his dad) picked up the tab.

It'll be interesting when they get into the meat of the SEC schedule

Dumb question, but here goes...
What is the purpose for “place holding” by a recruit?
"Risks Surround everything worth having, hide from risks and you hide from its rewards..............SUCCESS"
some commit to one school to try and force an offer from another school
Lets also not forget that if a kid really really wants to go to school “X” and holds out the entire time for school “X” and they never offer, he has no place to land. Kids will find a placeholder that they consider as a fall back option…
JD’s like, "you want some f*ing pitching? Here’s all the pitching you can stand. Now choke on it, b*#&hes!"- RCCook
LSB: "Oh s#*t, JD. You crazy!"
Insurance and/or leverage...Got it! Thanks.
"Risks Surround everything worth having, hide from risks and you hide from its rewards..............SUCCESS"
Committing early is smart to a school like Texas
If you get hurt while you are playing your senior year you know that the Longhorn family will take care of you and get you a medical schollie. Maybe that is why Mack doesn’t allow being the placeholder (if a kid takes a visit without permission he is pretty much off the list).
We're Texas, We're not OK.
I always liked Mac's position on that.
"Risks Surround everything worth having, hide from risks and you hide from its rewards..............SUCCESS"
I wonder if A&M will try to follow suit?
They are loading up this JR day.. If a kid starts to look elsewhere do they pull his scholly offer? If so, I will pay for screen shots of the TexAgs spin…

Hey Bill
How does the conversation with Barrett, Thomas, and Hill go? What will the coaches be telling these guys?
QBs
There’s some noise out there that Barrett will still be offered. I’m not sure how it would work, but Texas needs to be up front and honest with every party involved. No internet surprises.
by billfromlaketravis on Feb 19, 2012 6:10 PM CST up reply actions
not Barret
If UT is gonna offer another QB, it should be Cody Thomas. No point in offering another dual-threat QB like Barrett or even Kenny Hill if UT has already offered Swoopes and Jalen Overstreet is already coming in (and possibly red-shirting).

Oh I think he can be a QB at Texas

Cody Thomas
Thomas’ father basically told Inside Texas that they didn’t feel Texas’ interest in Cody was very serious. I think he’s out. Kenny Hill has plenty of options. I think it’s Barrett or bust on another QB.

Tell me about A'Shawn Robinson...

JD’s like, "you want some f*ing pitching? Here’s all the pitching you can stand. Now choke on it, b*#&hes!"- RCCook

Robinson
The issue with him is playing 100% all the time. When Robinson is motivated, he might be the best player in the state. When he’s not playing with fire, he’s been average.
I think he projects better as an OT. Elite, elite wingspan, good punch. He can be an excellent DT.

LB Position
Still seems like Hughes is the top target here… if Hughes is offered, is there not a spot for Wade? Heard we may just be taking 1 LB which is why I ask. Especially given our depth at MLB with Edmond and Santos, curious to know if Wade would be a bit redundant even though he’s extremely talented
Bill, I'm curious about your thoughts on Wade, too.
"Risks Surround everything worth having, hide from risks and you hide from its rewards..............SUCCESS"
Wade is a tough one
I just don’t see where the offer is. Texas is deep at MLB with Edmond and Santos, and Tevin Jackson can also play there.
Wade is a take most years, but this year could be different.

Kyle Hicks
How long had the coaches been evaluating him and how did he wind up from off the radar to the first RB commit? Can you tell us a little bit more on his story (knowing he was at CB last year, switched to RB this year).
I thought his film on Hudl was okay, but then I watched the free video clip they had on Orangebloods and it was very impressive… recommended for those who haven’t seen it yet!
PS Bill – kudos to you for identifying his talent 8 months ago.
Hicks
I saw a special player at the Red Bull Tourney in July 2011, I just had no idea what position he would play.
Hicks stayed at RB almost exclusively at Martin and had a great junior season. 1600 yards rushing, 300 yards receiving, 28 total touchdowns.
He came on late. Ford is looking hard at OOS schools. The staff likes Hicks better than White, they went with Hicks.

Without question. He would have been the top recruit in the 2012 class, easily the top recruit in the 2013 class. Beast from Georgia. Texas is recruiting him, but he is widely considered a Bama lock.

hes a monster! one of the best highlight films ive seen from the linebacker position. Him and landon collins on defense is scary.
That's a very physical, fast defense

I can’t remember if it was him or someone else, or both, that have a very high chance of being drafted by the MLB.

Stewart is a leftie and throws in the mid 90s
Kids like that have a tendency to get offered LIFE CHANGING money. I know Stewart is saying all the right things, but things could change once he’s offered a MLB signing bonus. There’s a reason TAMU isn’t down recruiting QBs.

This always happens with a new staff. Hey kids, a new sheriff is town. We’re here to win. All that nonsense. They’ll have serious decommitment problems once they drop 3-4 in a row in the SEC. Don’t worry.

Tall Recievers
This appears to be – I really don’t love speaking in declaratives this far out from NSD) the deepest class of WRs in Texas in a long time, particularly WRs with height, and we already have our staff’s pick for the best one. Hopefully on Wed we get a possible second. This was A&M’s year to get one also. Good for them.
Golden at DT is a different story. If we can flip him by NSD I am all for it.

2010 was a pretty deep one
Texas got Darius White, Mike Davis, Darius Terrell, Chris Jones, and John Harris, but other four-star guys like Apo, DeAndrew White, and Terrell Reese went out of state. In total, 21 of the Rivals’ top 100 receivers for the year were Texas high school products. Wow.

Should have said
“one of” the deepest classes in a long time. Because you are right about 2010.
Although, this helps prove my point about the WR position. Malcolm Williams, Darius White, Terrell, Timmons, etc, etc…. A combination of reasons, but just a lot of misses. Reminds me of DT from 2008-2010 where it just seemed we could not make a DT work.
Hopefully both of these trends are over now.
"A lot of people look for the easy way to do anything, in swimming there is no easy way." - Eddie Reese
Yeah, it's definitely a good illustration of the point that recruits are just recruits
It’s arguable which out of Mike Davis, Ross Apo, and Josh Huff has been the best receiver of that bunch of four-star guys, but that’s not saying a whole lot. I think a recent OL class was similar in that regard.

Sad for all the kids at the other HISD schools.
Interesting
I’m from Houston, and my dad told me Yates was THE school back in the day. He told me they got all the good HISD kids, but he never knew why. Thanks for the info!
I don't understand "t-sip" as an insult. I like drinking tea, and when is being classy a bad thing?
Ha! Yates was well known for it's football and basketball recruiting tactics.

"Statistics are for losers, I like winning games!" Will Muschamp
Back in pre-historic times...
When 4A was the top classification, HISD was in four districts. Most of the minority schools were in two districts, and the west side was in the other two. Yates was in one, and Kashmere was in the other. I went to Lee, and our big rival was Lamar (who we beat all three years – while winning district). Bellaire and Westbury were in the other – so that bi-district was the city championship, always played at Jeppesen (which was a HISD field then).
My junior year we played Kashmere, with Delvin Williams at RB. They wore our asses out 41-15. Yates may have been good at some time, but in the late sixties, Kashmere was THE HISD program.
Happy to say that after a several year gap, Lee is playing FB again.
Ha - damn, you are old
I remember Kashmere though – it and Wheatly were generally BB state powerhouses for years.
Lamar was the rich kids school – all the River Oaks kids, that didn’t go to Kinkade, went to Lamar.

I don't really hate Katy.
It was a good place to grow up. Nice, quiet suburban community. Nothing wrong with that. Going to school in Austin was a fun change after 18 years in Katy though. Now, I just love Austin (who wouldn’t?) and stayed here after getting my engineering degree from UT. Austin is a helluva drug.
The humidity does suck in Houston though. That is one thing I actively dislike about Houston. The traffic sucks too, but tell me any freeway in Houston is worse than I-35 and I will call you a liar to your face. And my most recent impressions of Katy are spending 3 of my summer commuting from Katy/Cypress (where my parents moved to a couple years ago) in to downtown for internships. Even taking the Metro and getting to use the HOV lane, it’s an hour each way. Ouch. Houston is just that sprawling though, which is another annoying thing about it. I always thought Houston traffic was bad until I moved here to the DC area.
DC traffic is like Houston traffic if Houston never expanded their freeways.
Yeah I've heard horror stories.
The Katy Freeway is actually not bad at all, after the recent expansion. That is one massive freeway nowadays.

I’m in DC three weeks a month. There is nothing to compare to 66 at rush hour, the Beltway any time of day, or 95 from the Springfield Interchange south in the afternoon. I’ve see the Beltway between 95 and the Dulles Toll Road CRAWLING at 10:30 AM. I’ve taken three hours to go the twenty five miles from Springfield to Quantico on 95 on a Friday afternoon. I now time my flights based upon traffic there. Land mid day, depart early AM and stay right by the a/p that night. Anyone who bitches about Austin traffic hasn’t seen ANYTHING. And just imagine how much worse it would be w/o the Metro.
Can't rec this enough. We've basically lived the same life.
Grew up in Katy (I mean, after I got to Texas from Alabama, California, and India) and moved to Austin and never seriously looked back. Austin has a way of spoiling you.
Living in Houston is like living in the swamp of swamps, the humidity is so bad. Other swamps come and gather and pay respects to the swamp that is Houston. But I disagree about the traffic. Austin has perfected the art of finding new and ingenious ways to create traffic jams out of thin air. Houston’s traffic isn’t so bad by comparison, especially when you take into account the size of the city. If Houston roads were as poorly designed as Austin roads (a lot of this is due to how quickly Austin grew in the last 15 years and through no one’s fault), I’d still be stuck in traffic and not typing this.
Katy was a nice place to grow up, in conclusion.

Although a Chicago area native,
I’ve spent about half my life living in Texas (4.5 in Katy area, 3.5 in Houston for grad school, 8.5 in Austin). I love all three places and all have their pros and cons.
I moved back here to Chicago a little over a year ago from Austin and I must say that I generally agree with you about Houston vs. Austin re: traffic. Austin traffic is, relatively speaking, worse than in Houston. Houston did do a good job of building a road system that would keep up with growth about as well as could be hoped and, if you’re trying to get somewhere during a busy traffic time, just avoid the freeways and Galleria area if you can and it’s not that bad.
Austin, however, should not be given any kind of free pass by saying that “a lot” of the reason the traffic is as bad as it is now is because of growth and that is nobody’s fault. Indeed, back in the 60’s/70’s/80’s a lot of road growth/improvement (much in the form of freeways) was refused in the hope that enough people would stay away to the extent that it would never become a problem; this was done in spite of population growth concerns that have largely proven well-founded. Now the city is in a lot of trouble and improvement is hindered by NIMBY’s and various other headaches that weren’t there 35+ years ago.
All in all I certainly love Austin, sympathize with environmental concerns, and might end up there again someday, but that is one thing I’ll always have trouble tolerating: the incompetence, stubbornness, and/or general lack of foresight or “can do” attitude of city government/planning. Some things, such as building more roads, indeed have some unfortunate side effects, but it could have been done better than it has been and denying the inevitability of population growth was a poor decision that has made everything suck that much worse for everybody.

As an old Austin native, I never saw a traffic problem.
When I left in 1962 there were only 179,000 people in Austin.
When it became the second silicon valley, all the west coast hippies, ecstatic over an opportunity to escape Cali, arrived with bags of money and drove up local housing costs to ungodly levels Furthermore, when you come from the traffic morasses of the big cities of Cali, Austin’s traffic just ain’t that bad..

Out of the six seasons (three sports over two seasons each), two championships would be excellent
Obviously Augie’s boys could win that many, and Mack could win one, but that’d be extremely unlikely. Two guaranteed national titles instead of up to three, but more likely zero? Sure.

Personally, I am barely aware that basketball on any level actually exists and college baseball is practically invisible to the point that it is difficult to follow with any worthwhile degree of intensity.
To those who know: will the LHN show a lot of baseball?

With the Oliver commit and number we got in 2012, are we interested in adding much more in 2013? Do recruits get disappointed when they don’t get an early offer? Or is it they already know they’re chances after talking to their recruiters for JD2?

Do you have any thoughts on why OU recruiting in Texas has collapsed? I know they are still getting good classes by recruiting elsewhere and maybe collapse is too strong a word but they just dont seem as much a factor in Texas the last couple of years. Maybe their coaches just like to fly.

I think it’s a combination of a few things, namely losing repeated head to head battles with Texas and some of their players from Texas haven’t worked out. They recruit Florida and California well. They are also after JUCOs pretty hard.

Ha, yeah thinking back on this season.
Ash wen’t through some serious shit this season and still managed to play decently. The situation was about as messed up as you could possibly make it : True freshman, new offense, new coaches, QB carousel, RB injuries, WR injuries, tough schedule, etc, etc.
And he handled it with class which is huge in my estimation. I really look forward to seeing what he can do this year since the entire situation will be so much less dysfunctional.
Of course, we’ll never know about injuries but everything else is shaping up to be a much better situation.

Duke Thomas is the real deal
Saw him at his last playoff game at Jerry World against Rowlett…
Duke playing as a QB didn’t impress me much though he had some nice moves, it was his kick/punt returns that made me gwak in amazement…
Every time Rowlett kicked the ball off he would return it past the 50 save one time I think he only went to the 40…
He even muffed a catch and dropped it clear to the ground, turned around, picked it up and still made it across the 50. He was so scarey that in the final minutes Rowlett decided that they would try for a first down on a 4th and 7 on the 45 rather than punt the ball to Duke…
He was electric, glad he’s a Horn.

Not the best home state to recruit out of, but they’re next to Florida and Georgia. 2 of the top 4 recruiting states in the country. This notion that Bama does more with less is laughable. Flip side just look at Boise, if ever there was a year to get in a NCG this was it, and then they lose on a FG to TCU on the blue…sad when you actually think about it (with the exception of the TCU fans).

It wasn't luck that took Colt down. Just one idiot OC who so disdained the need for....
implementing a running game that he used his spread passing QB as a running back for his faux running plays.

So much hate for GD,
I mean, he used Colt to Colt’s ability, it was just a couple unlucky plays that got him hurt. Can’t pin those on the OC. If we woulda won that game, it would be opposite.
True regarding Colt
But it was his inability to produce a consistent running game, especially a power running game, that led to Colt getting hurt against KSU, and then took away the early momentum in the A&M game. With a healthy Colt, we most likely win both games, and then have a good shot at the MNC game that year.
He seemed to have no problem getting a terrific running game going with good OL and RB coaches
Ricky was already established when GD arrived, sure, but Mitchell and Benson were also highly productive.

Colt got hurt against KSU
because he took a bad hit to the shoulder/head. It had nothing to do with not being able to establish a run game. I’m positive most coaches would’ve called a sneak in that situation.
hmm...
we HAD to sneak it because we could run it in short yardage situations…

Well,
HAVING to sneak it is a matter of discussion. But I’m just tired of GD being blamed for Colt getting hurt.
I don't blame him...
but that’s the reason we did that play, but its a play we should have been able to do regardless
"We are who we are. People say what they say. The outcome is the outcome. We are proud of ourselves." -DeLoss Dodds 9/21/2011
Right right,
I wasn’t pointing it at you in particular. I’m not a big GD fan, but it’s easy to say we lost Colt because he called that sneak. Well, a lot of coaches would’ve called that sneak. It was just a freak hit that doesn’t happen 9/10 times you run that play.
Saban fits that culture like a glove
questionable tactics with a win at all costs attitude. championships trump everything else. the administration and fans will let him do his thing as long as he continues to win and win big. Saban is basically running a semi-pro team in college.

The 5 commitments
Oliver committing early was a bit of a surprise to me. I expected him to commit to Texas, but not so soon.
Robinson was very surprising. I thought he would at least take some visits first.
Getting Swoopes early is huge, he can Raulerson can do some damage recruiting for Texas.

Josh Thomas Ja'Braylin Thomas
What’s going on with these guys? They seemed to be some top targets early and seem to have faded.
Scout reports Josh Thomas has an offer.
Thomas and Thomas
I think Texas can slow both. I personally like Porter better than both. Could be telling that Ja’Braylin Thomas wasn’t invited to either Junior Day.

Bill, I'd love your thoughts on our QB situation.
I’ve got a lot of worries about our depth chart getting a bit clogged up. Specifically, if Ash starts through his senior year (and I think after his bowl game performance this is not especially unlikely) what happens to Brewer and Overstreet?
We’re looking, in this vaguely relevant hypothetical, a situation in which both Brewer and Swoopes don’t have the opportunity to start until their respective redshirt junior years. This kind of thing has absolutely worked at other schools (USC is a great example of this) but we haven’t really pulled it off well here, like… ever.
Honestly, my take is that I wouldn’t mind seeing Brewer and Swoopes not play significantly until their redshirt junior years, but do you think we can keep them around long enough to make this work?
Thanks!

Some coaches sell it better
Leach had QBs waiting 4 full years before they started.

For the most part
Leach was recruiting 3 star QBs. Some of them may not have as many options coming out of HS. Still, though, what Leach did is pretty remarkable. The longer he has been gone from Tech, the better he looks. Long live the Pirate at Wazoo. You are missed in the B12

QB depth chart
Certainly possible that Ash is something resembling a 4 year starter. Brewer would be a redshirt junior in that scenario. I know most players don’t like the idea of starting for just 2 years, but it’s very common. Make no mistake, Brewer and Overstreet are coming to Texas to take Ash’s job. That’s how it works.
I don’t think Overstreet will redshirt if he stays healthy and remains at QB.

Them's the breaks I guess
Good point about this being a competition after all. Part of the reason we were in the 2010 mess (Gilbert with backup McCoy and behind them basically nothing) was probably because of the “anointing” of a QB that Mack did.
We really got lucky that Colt owned the job so completely. Imagine if his career had stonewalled after Jevan transferred. 2010 could have come in 2007, with Chiles and the Wildhorn as a backup.

I just can't figure out how we have room for 2 QBs
when we only have room for 1 LB
"We are who we are. People say what they say. The outcome is the outcome. We are proud of ourselves." -DeLoss Dodds 9/21/2011
Is it definitive we are only in one 1 LB?
I don’t know that’s why I’m asking. We do have youth and depth in the LB corps. I don’t see why we wouldn’t take two talents like Barrett and Swoops and go LB heavy a year from now.
according to the people in the know it is...
they may add another after the attrition numbers start rolling in down the road but for now they told recruits that they were still evaluating LBs since they only had one spot…from what I’ve read/been told.
"We are who we are. People say what they say. The outcome is the outcome. We are proud of ourselves." -DeLoss Dodds 9/21/2011
Interesting.
Again, I would rather take two QBs this year and go heavy LB next year if we have to, but I would be surprised if we don’t take at least 2 LBs when all is said and done.
I mean,
it’s kind of early to say we absolutely won’t take other players at any position. Look at Swoopes’ commitment. It went from “QB recruiting=shut down” to “Well, Barrett is still coming for JD2, and it ain’t for cupcakes”. You know what I mean?

His block numbers are insane. Really fun to watch him play
Funny thing is,
people last year condemned Ibaka for not being able to play defensively without a big center next to him. He was practically alone the whole second half and absolutely dominated the paint. I mean, last night, we are talking Bill Russell domination defensively inside.

Bama
Is going to be elite for a number of years… their 2012 and 2013 recruiting hauls are going to be insane.
Bama
Is perfectly capable of losing in a title game to whomever they play. They are a machine right now, no doubt. Texas can beat that team with a better offense. The defense is only going to get better in all phases.
I was at the title game last year.
That team can be beat
Quick thought on Hall and Porter
Porter is from Indiana. Notre Dame could be a problem here if they get serious. Baylor has already offered.
Hall is from Washington and is tight with ASJ. Watch out for UW. Texas is evaluating him as a TE and a DE. Could be a nice angle to take.

The last championship game was not as impressive as it looked I believe
Don’t get me wrong, Bama’s team was clearly still one of the best teams in the nation, and they proved they deserved to play in the game 100%, but they are an SEC team playing an SEC team. Their defense was specifically designed to stop an offense like LSU’s. It is not a huge shock that they did so well. I would like to see a Bama team play a top offense from the Big 12 or even the Pac 12. If they had played one of those teams, i believe they would not have looked nearly as dominate because they would have to rework their whole defense.
We've all got hole to fill. Some holes are all that's real. Some fall on you like a storm, sometimes you dig your own. -- Towns Van Zandt
In my opinion,
Saban has totally figured out the SEC and has created a beast of a team that is specially desinged to win the SEC west. Outside of the SEC, i dont believe the team is truely as good as its numbers show. Just look at who they played in their last two NCs: Texas without Colt and LSU (SEC).

1 SEC title in 5 yrs
So hard to say he figured out the SEC. Guy is a good coach that has had some luck on his side. Getting a shot to at a rematch. Got in over USC. Got to play OU in the title game despite OU getting beaten like a dog by KSU in champ game. He has had a blessed run
Agree
He has rec’d all of luck that hasn’t gone to Mack:
-Benson hurt/Simms INTs/Geiggar roughing call against CU
-Colt hurt against KSU
-2008 3 way tie
-Colt hurt against Bama
I saw on ESPN
That 2013 Georgia JUCO OL Trenton Brown who was offered by UGA had us in his Top 5. Are we even looking at him? Do the coaches look at JUCOs this early, or is it more of a last minute “we need this now” thing?

Honestly that's the first time I've heard his name
Could be one to watch. Ish Wilson is off the board right now. Gustafson could join him soon. Texas knows how many OLs they need to take, and they’ll get them.

Oliver
He’s obviously an outside receiver. Jaxon Shipley is the only WR that will come in more polished. Jake is a legit 6’4" and catches the ball at the highest point. Not sure if he’s a deep threat, but he’ll go get some jump balls. Jake needs to continue to improve his speed, that’s the only aspect of his game that needs work. I think he can be the next Eric Decker.
I don’t think Cayleb and Jake are redundant, but they will be in direct competition. One will play more than the other.
I think this is where Massington fills a need. Texas just doesn’t have a size / speed combo like him. 6’3’’ guys that run 10.7s 100s are pretty hard to find.
by billfromlaketravis on Feb 19, 2012 10:39 PM CST up reply actions
RE: Oliver as a deep threat
I think he’ll get behind some DBs, but it’s going to be because of the play call, and superior route running. He’s not going to out run a CB in the Big 12 on a go route.
by billfromlaketravis on Feb 19, 2012 10:42 PM CST up reply actions
Gotta bet a white receiver, right?
I was thinking Ron Gardner or Larry Fitzgerald in their college careers. A lot of people questioned whether they had the speed to get separation, but they had all those ball skills, size, strength, etc.
Another thing I believe I saw that Jake needs to improve is not body-catching. He didn’t do it a ton, but more than I expected to see.

But to me the last couple of classes and it seems already with this one, that we are getting tough minded, prideful, workaholic footballers. These guys are really WANTING to BE HORNS for all that right reasons. They all want to come in, work their tail off to get the respect of football nation! Win some tough games. It is fun to read between the lines, some the committed and on campus youngsters. They are buying in to the idea of hard work rather entitlement from previous teams’ accomplishments!

If I were a top flight recruit, why would I commit my junior year? Wouldn’t I want to visit schools and look around my senior year? I can understand a recruit waiting until the fall to make a decision
He’ll likely have all of his offers in and he can make official visits. Staying at the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton, flying on a plane for the first time is a big deal for these kids. This often gets overlooked, the recruiting process can be fun. A player won’t be recruited again until he’s a NFL free agent. Most don’t make it that far.
