Texas Baseball Begins Midweek Action Against UT Arlington

Austin Dicharry will make his second start in two years tonight at 6 PM in a home matchup versus UT Arlington. The senior Dicharry was a phenom in his 2009 freshman campaign but has missed most of the last three years with shoulder issues. Fans may remember Dicharry as the other relief pitcher in the 25 inning regional victory over Boston College in 2009, and if that's the pitcher we can expect to see on the mound then Texas will be in a substantially stronger position. As always, it's not really about wins and losses in the midweek games, especially the early ones, but how do the newer Longhorns look at the plate, on the mound and in the field.

UT Arlington comes to Austin after taking two of three from Louisiana Tech last weekend. The last time we saw UTA in Austin the Horns were on their way to a 21-2 victory.

PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS
Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 - 6 p.m. Central
Texas: RHP Austin Dicharry (1-1, 18.00 ERA)
UT Arlington: LHP Adam Boydston (2-2, 7.52 ERA)

I’m a UT-Arlington Alum. Didn’t even know we had a baseball team. For all sports, I looked to Austin, except Basketball. I guess I have to cheer for UTA this time… but geez, that last score looks ugly.

Excited to get a look at Stell

Is there a reason why Texas will not play UTA of DBU in Dallas other than stadium size?

We don't have to so we don't

Like most schools of our size and rep, we play most of our OOC games at home. If we do a home and home, it’s usually a Stanford or Arizona St or someone like that.

Maybe a stupid question

Where do I go to get the Craig Way radio feed on my laptop?

gametracker on there is what I'm watching.

I couldn’t get the video link to work. Dicharry getting shelled. Down 5-3i n top of 3rd. Two of 5 runs unearned.

He looked really good in the 2nd

I’m guessing it’s some rust, and there were some little flares by UTA

Rust

Most likely. But he gave up at least two doubles and a two run tater before Johnson yanked him.

You are correct

gametracker. you go away and come back—-never mind.

Peters getting squeezed by the ump

Ground out to short
K swinging
Walk
Single
Error on Lusson on a bit of a high through from Weiss

2 runs score.

7-3

double steal before the error

put runners and 2nd and 3rd. Now a passed ball has the runner on 3rd. Felts not distinguishing himself. That’s at least two PB’s.

Horns go 1-2-3

Summers was robbed of a single by a nice diving grab by the CF

7-3 UTA through 4

Leadoff walk for Peters

K looking
6-4-3 DP ends the inning

Nice work by Peters. He hasn’t had a bad night if not for the defense.
