Big 12 Expansion is Back!

Florida State and Clemson are coming to the Big 12 in 2013. Absolutely confirmed? Not yet. Chances are better than good, however. With W. Virginia's addition to the league, it was only a matter of time that the BIg 12 sought to increase its eastern membership. It's happening, and the SEC will get the payback it so richly deserves. Full on Big 12 recruiting will soon be happening all over Florida.

Star-divide

It's in the rumor mill stage right now. Chip Brown answered in the negative on Twitter today. However, he was smart not enough not to be absolute. In all this process, many rumors have been decidedly accurate. This one rings true. Read this link A lot of you will laugh and mock the source. Don't care. It's real. It adds up, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Notre Dame and Louisville added as well down the line. Having Florida, Texas, and Midwestern recruiting all in the same conference is pretty incredible.

The Big 12 will soon overtake the SEC. I am very happy about this. I believe it. You can ban me, and it will not effect me in the least. I'll never return. No problem. I only registered to post this. Hook Em.

This must be true

because “it adds up” and Notre Dame never makes a moved without Louisville.

Sources? Sources? Don't Need No Sources!

I don’t have a so-called “Big Cigar” or “Asset,” and based on recent events I very much doubt if the people in question do either. What I do have is a hunch, and based on the link that I posted and the beginnings of chatter on message boards (try a Google search for a change) I believe that this will happen. The above post is my strong opinion based on closely following the last three years of alignment drama. I feel so strongly that I registered an account just to post this. Take it. Leave it. I could care less. I’m sure I’ll be banned soon anyway.

You can listen to the drivel from people who pretend to be in the know, and who mostly get steered in all sorts of false turns by sources who just laugh at them. Or you can form educated guesses based upon your own research, wind-gauging, and common sense. There is chatter. This is my opinion.

As good as a fact: Clemson and FSU will be in the Big 12.

Possibility: Notre Dame and Louisville may follow.

BTW, read the link posted above. I’m not the only one.

Notre Dame, Fsu, Clemson would be sick

That said… it doesnt happen for a awhile

What in tarnation is a Wheemer???

The link he posted is just as bad. Whoever ECDawg on is, he and Wheemers should build a shrine to the Aggies. That’s probably what they are…Aggie trolls missing the Big 12 and trying to hide it by spreading falsehoods. Whatever.

by sambunnell on Feb 7, 2012 11:44 AM CST reply actions

As good as a fact: USC, Ohio State and Manchester United will be in the Big 12 as well

And once they’re on board, Boise State and the Canadian Women’s Curling Team will soon join.

I too cannot confirm this rumor, nor can I reveal anything so silly and simplistic as a “source”. Nevertheless, when Chip Brown sends out a Tweet denying this, don’t be concerned: it’s all part of the master strategery at work here. And once it’s done, we’ll have full-on Big 12 recruiting throughout northwestern England. Liverpool will get the payback it so richly deserves.

Go ahead and mock me. It won’t effect me in the least.

I believe it is now written directly into the FA’s bylaws that Howard Webb is required to referee any significant match involving United. Now whether he wears his autographed Wayne Rooney jersey underneath is still a matter of choice..

Bill Bellichek is rumored to have interest in the Texas job when Mack retires…

Vince Young has discovered a loophole in the NCAA and will return for his senior season in 2012

NCAA Football will go to a 32 team super conference and tells everyone else (including A&M) to suck it

Augie Garrido will be the next manager of the Houston Astros

Bob Knight will come out of retirement to take over for Rick Barnes, upon hearing the news, LeBron James decides he wants some sort of championship and petitions the NCAA to allow him one season with the Longhorns

In the words of the late Gen. Jack D. Ripper:

Today, conference realignment is too important to be left to the conferences. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for strategic thought. I can no longer sit back and allow conference infiltration, conference indoctrination, conference subversion and the international conference conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious football fluids.

In (very limited) defense of this post...

…I will point out that I would have, a year ago this time, greeted a similar prediction that WVU would be on its way to the Big 12 with similar derision.

True,

but wasn’t there a lot more chatter and credible sourcery coming out about that?

by 40A on Feb 7, 2012 2:21 PM CST up reply actions

This particular post aside

Where do you suppose FSU does end up in 10 years? Is it plausible that they stick with the ACC? Seems a bit shabby for their ilk. And we know the SEC won’t take them (allegedly).

by BrooklynHorn on Feb 7, 2012 2:45 PM CST up reply actions

SEC has that rule

where they won’t invite teams if another team from the state is in the conference. However, we know how well they do following ANY kind of rules, let alone their own.

by 40A on Feb 7, 2012 4:54 PM CST up reply actions

Right, that's what I mean

If we are gradually moving to Super-Conferences, it seems unlikely that FSU would stick with a dying ACC. I always assumed the ACC would be more active in the survival game than our cozy little geriatric-life-supported-about-to-be-unplugged Big XII, but so far the Big XII is winning. If it turns out that the 4 mega-conferences are Pac-16, Big10(6), Big XII, and the SEC, it may be that the Big XII is the best fit.

by BrooklynHorn on Feb 7, 2012 6:27 PM CST up reply actions

Somehow, I still don't believe WVU's in the Big 12.

I’ll believe it when I see the first sofa burning in Austin.

Oh. Aggies, I apologize; I forgot you were there. You may go now.

by pleaseplaykindle on Feb 7, 2012 3:10 PM CST up reply actions

Good point

Or who would have ever predicted that A&M would ever leave “Big Brother?” There are really two issues involved. One, does the “Big XII-2” want to expand further? It didn’t seem so this year. Louisville was ripe for the taking from what I understand, had the conference wanted them. What is going to change that dynamic next year? Second, if it does expand, who are the most likely candidates? For example, while FSU would be a great pick-up, one of the “directional” Florida schools (USF, UCF) and maybe Louisville would seem more likely. This guy may be coming out of left field, but it is still nice to dream.

WV

Yes and if its from a West Virginia board about FSU and Clemson it 100% must be true.

The only source is this one blogger who saw how WVU fans bought hook line and sinker when a couple of bloggers sold them that the SEC had already invited them. Anyone who doubted was attacked right up to the day Missouri was officially in the SEC. This guy is just trying to get attention. Who knows, maybe the OP is the same guy.

All y’all know that I speak the truth. Mockery doesn’t stop me. These teams are coming to our conference and I am happy about it. I will be happy until such time as Gabriel blows his horn! Discussion is alive. A north wind is blowing. We will conquer the world!

You already can do that....

in NCAA12…you can create your own schedule…I played a season with the Horns where I played: Bama, LSU, SoCal, tOSU, OU, OkSt, Aggie, RG3 and Florida all in the regular season…then I unleashed JJ and Oak on Andrew Luck in the NC Championship game…needless to say, David Ash is waaay better in video game land than in real life….btw, I deleted GG from the Texas roster before I started the season
