I also didn't see any kids from Louisiana
rivals obviously caters to the southeast

Texas has 11
Swoopes – 11 (only 5 star from Texas)
Seals-Jones – 13
Griffin – 19
Perkins – 25
Raulerson – 51
Oliver – 61
Golden – 63
Robinson – 69
Miles – 86
Manning – 89
James – 92
Florida has 18!!!
Georgia has 10!!
And Louisiana has 2.
The Georgia/Florida numbers are a sign of two things IMO.
1 – lots of athletes. 11/18 are skill position kids, and they are always overrated early in the process, and
2 – the southeast is the new Texas. Revenue, interest, athletes, fanbase…. leads to evaluations and articles on a lot of kids, and they get bumped up on lists. It is the nature of the beast. But this will level out over the next 12 months.

I too was surprised by that.
There’s a normal Texas representation in the 100. It’s just that there isn’t the same as usual on the top end, i.e. the top 50. Less than normal up top but I guess we gotta just settle for comprising a “paltry” 11% of the entire list.
Looking at the ESPN 100
They have 11 Florida kids rated as 5 stars, with only Raulerson and Kohl Stewart as 5 star players from Texas
Where's a link for that?
Is it insider only?

linky please
What’s not to love? Especially when you see how I party, it was epic. The run I was on made Sinatra, Flynn, Jagger, Richards and all of them look like droopy-eyed armless children"
Also worth comparing:
The Lone Star 100, a ranking of Texas state recruits, which is done by Rivals guys who are focused on the state.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/texas/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-3017
They do actually differ from the main Rivals rankings of the top recruits in the state and the order of those who appear in the national Rivals 100. For example, Adrian Colbert is only a 3* guy on Rivals, but the Lone Star 100 puts him at #16 in the state, right behind Orlando Thomas and ahead of four-star guys like Dominique Wheeler, Matt Davis, Corey Coleman, Colin Blake, Peter Jinkens, Daje Johnson, Camrhon Hughes, and many more.

247 Recruiting's top-247 list...
is located here.
They currently rate only ten guys as 5* recruits for 2013, with the rating score cutoff at 98, and I don’t see any rumored Texas targets among them. Raulerson is rated a 96, which is still a pretty high 4*, and #23 overall in the nation.
Current targets and junior day invitees on the top 247 list include:
18 Keith Ford (rated 96, invited to but unlikely to attend JD1, per GOBR)
19 Kent Perkins (96, JD1)
32 Darius James at 32 (95, JD1)
36 JT Barrett (95, JD2)
48 A’Shawn Robinson (95, JD1)
51 Jake Oliver (95, JD1)
56 Marcell Harris (95, and invited to but will not attend JD1, per GOBR)
61 Justin Manning (95, JD1)
74 Tyrone Swoopes (94, JD1)
81 Ishmael Wilson (94, JD1)
87 Ricky Seals-Jones (94, JD1)
90 Isaiah Golden (94, JD1, currently committed to aggie)
92 Dontre Wilson (94, JD1)
112 Brett Wade (93, JD2)
133 Jacorey Warrick (93, JD2)
148 D.J. Ward (92, JD1)
167 Durham Smythe (92) is JD1
191 Kameron Miles (91) is JD2
219 Eldrige Massington (90) is JD2
Deon Hollins (90, JD1) is rated 4*, but must have just missed the top 247 lis. I say that because he’s ranked 34th in the state, while Massington is ranked 33rd and made the list. He’s also ranked 11th nationally for weakside DE’s, and the 10th-ranked guy had the same score of 90, but made the 247 list at #237. So Hollins is really close.
The other 4* JD invitees who didn’t make the top-247 list are:
Ra’Shaad Samples (90, JD1)
James White (90, JD1)
3* JD invitees:
Naashon Hughes (89, JD1)
George Baltimore (89, JD2)
Jeremiah Gaines (88, JD2)
Maurice Smith (87, JD2)
Patrick Morris (87, JD2, but only listed as interested in Baylor)
Vincent Taylor (86, JD1)
Josh Thomas (86, JD1)
Kenny Hill (85, JD2, but not listed as interested in Texas)
Unranked, unrated JD invitees:
Christopher Robinson DT (JD2, but not listed as interested in Texas)
Karick Huggins DT (JD2, but not listed as interested in Texas)
Top-247 recruits who are listed as interested in Texas, but apparently not invited:
39 Kyle Bosch (95, national recruit with very impressive offer list already, but lists 26 total schools; “cool” on Texas)
86 Gary Moore (94, “warm”)
106 Cody Thomas PRO-QB (94, “warm”)
125 Mike Mitchell OLB (93, and a guy I think seems like a great recruit for UT to consider due to his 6’4/215lb., WDE-destined frame and pass-rushing ability; “warm”)
167 Paul Whitmill OLB (92, “warmer” on TCU and OU, but “warm” on Texas)
177 Robbie Rhodes ATH (92, “warm”)
193 Christian Morgan ATH (91, “cool” on Texas, but on everyone else as well)
