You seem to create a new thread for every thought that comes to mind. It can usually go somewhere else, rather than pushing existing fanposts/fanshots off the front page. It’s just common courtesy…and common sense. I’m far from the only one who has mentioned this to you.

As for misrepresentations, what did I misrepresent? You said that JJ had been dropped to second fiddle, when in fact he and Okafor are not competing for the same position on the depth chart. Those two positions they hold also serve different functions in the scheme, as the buck is more like a typical blindside end in the NFL. It goes against the athletic left tackle of the OL and is intended to achieve maximum disruption of the passing game by putting pressure on the quarterback. This is the position Orakpo played in 2008, Kindle mostly assumed in 2009, and a combination of Eddie Jones, Dravannti Johnson, and Jeffcoat held down in 2010.

The strongside end can still function as a pass-rusher, but is also lined up against the run-blocking RT and has much greater responsibility against the run. This is the position Melton played opposite Orakpo in 2008, and that Acho played for 2009-2010. While Okafor was listed as the backup at buck behind Kindle in 2009, the need to move him and experience games from his time at tackle made him a natural fit for the strongside end position. To my knowledge Jeffcoat has never appeared on the depth chart at strong end, and he and Okafor have never appeared at the same position. One is not second fiddle to the other, and the differences in their stats make sense, since they’re not ends playing in a symmetrical defense.

The NFL dad issue was presented in your argument, so I pointed out that it’s completely irrelevant to comparing these two kids’ relative quality. I’m not sure where you’ve been seeing the Peppers comparisons, but if they exist, then they’re relevant, and paternity isn’t, except to the extent that Jeffcoat brought his genetics and skills his father gave him to the 40 Acres. But those genetics and skills aren’t part of a valid argument; the relative performances would be, except that they’re playing two different positions with two mostly different assignments.

I guess a better example could’ve been, say, Cedric Benson vs. Jarrett Payton, had Payton played for Texas.
