WVu's HC Dana Holgorsen discusses 2012 Mountaineers in the Big XII
The Mountaineers make their Big XII on September 29 at home. Then, the next week they get their first away conference game In Austin on Oct. 6.
We open our conference game on the 29th in Stillwater, so the UT vs. WVu game will be the second conference game for both teams. It is not too early to start planning to enjoy the spoils of conference realignment that traded Missery and Aggies for two of top current college football programs.
I posted the link above to start discussions on what to expect with WVu. I know one thing for sure, QB Geno Smith is "prime time" and he will be ready to cut loose. We better be ready. He's a guy I've loved to watch play because he doesn't quit and no lead is safe. And, you sure as hell do not want to be playing a Dana Holgorsen team and hope to catch them from behind.
Manny Diaz better have his grove on. What are we going to do special to welcome the Mountaineers to Austin? Perhaps this is a good time to start a tradition that would also MOCK our dear departed Aggies. Like, let's consider building a GIANT COUCH made out of ..you guessed it...COUCHES....and then we can light it on fire. Kind of like a tribute to bonfire but much more laid back. Aggies always tried to force traditions a bit too much just like their current pleas to teams in the SEC to "please be our rival." This stuff has to happen organically, but hells bells, I just can't wait to play the Mountaineers. I do not expect an easy game and I am going to guess we are the underdogs despite being at home. But, I'm ready to party and this clip made me more excited about the new season.
I also just enjoyed deleting "I am 12" from my favorites since the Aggies have officially left the building and Sports Blog Nation (anyone else dieing to know the entire story?) and replaced them with The Smoking Musket. The Smoking Musket has some good reads about their spring game. http://www.smokingmusket.com/
Are you ready for some football?
