A few months ago, I wrote an article titled http://www.burntorangenation.com/2012/2/24/2821930/why-tyrone-swoopes-will-never-be-a-full-time-qb-starter-at-texas and it is because of his lack of passing skills. He has dropped to 100 by ESPN (I think) and is listed as an "athlete" now by many services. A lot of people made comments about how I'm off my rocker as the reason I gave was RSJ would be the QB however, now it looks like Swoopes has receiver written all over him once he gives up the qb position. Lot of young guys ahead of him... super athlete though and glad to have him. But again, as a former 5A QB, I've played too many studs who didn't pan out in college that spun the ball much better than Swoopes. He can only read one side of the field too and this is an issue that usually never goes away. Sorry but 15 td's and 7 picks against around 2000 yards in 2A football just doesn't do it for me. I think coaches are getting some of these guys on campus, including Overstreet. Then they can tell them "here is how to get to the NFL"
As for RSJ I think he wants to be out of the pigeon hole of receiver. I expect an amazing QB campaign from him his Sr year and for him to go wherever he can play QB in college. The basketball stuff is a smoke screen to get some distance from UT and gain some leverage to come back as a QB if he wants once Swoopes bombs. He will end up at a football factory who watches his tapes and says "holy $hit, now there is a QB", which is what I do every time I watch the tape. I still have confidence we sign him, it will be as a QB though come next Feb.
