Sundays with Bill has always been a labor of love. Sometimes a labor of love bumps up against career. I stepped away for a few months, but I'm happy to be back and interacting with my people.
Quite simply, I returned because Burnt Orange Nation citizens demanded it. My loyalists remained persistent and as the football season got closer, I felt it was the right time to come back.
We have an abundance of topics to touch. So much has changed since our last chat. I want to focus on the upcoming season, 2013 and 2014, and the state of the program.
Simple ground rules:
1) No griping about the LHN. If you have constructive criticisms to offer, please have at it. Posters with a media background are encouraged to submit their opinion. There are numerous threads on this site to vent on the LHN.
2) Please keep all discussions civil. Remember we are Texas fans and we hold ourselves to a high standard.
3) I will moderate the discussion from 7 pm until 9pm on Sundays. Feel free to continue the discussion with other citizens and BON authors.
Opening thoughts: I like the move to offer high school juniors before Junior Days. However, the offers need to be used in moderation. Skill position players' bodies are easier to project than lineman. It's not a coincidence that 4 of the 5 2014 commits are offensive skill position players.
In honor of my guy Dalton Santos, a quote from the 1989 masterpiece, Road House: "Take the biggest guy in the world, shatter his knee and he'll drop like a stone. "
Fire away citizens. Football is back.
