In other years, I could have stomached not seeing the first two games. 2005 or 2009. You know those are blowout games. Do you want to see them? Of course. But not really crucial.
This year is a different story. The team is still relatively young. Reports on Ash and the offense are positive. But I want to see for myself. I want to see how he looks in the pocket. Is he comfortable? Is he checking down to his open receivers? How is the protection? How is Ash under pressure? Plus, how sharp are our weapons? How big are the holes? How quick are our backs (quick as a hiccup!)?
In a year like 05 or 09, VY or Colt could have had a below average game, and it wouldn't have matter. They would shake it off and come back the next game. This year, it matters. It is going to set the tone for the season. I still think Ash is the our QB, but I think it is important for him to have productive starts so he believes he is. The sooner he builds in game confidence, the sooner the offense comes together. We all know the offense is absolutely paramount this year. How good our offense is will decide everything.
The uncertainty is what's killing me. Am I right? I know Wyoming is not OSU, but seeing a comfortable Ash would quiet my heart and sooth my mind. Please, please god of technology, interwebs, and FCC, find a way to make fix this ruined, ruined system. Punish the evil ESPN for its insatiable greed and help the UT administration from falling in with the wrong crowd again.
