Mind Bending the Longhorns

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Texas Sports released it's pregame video montage shown to players ahead of the 2013 Red River Rivalry.

The year was 1974.

The times were tumult with the smoldering social ashes of Vietnam and Civil Rights in the air.

And the country was battling the political high jinks of Watergate.

The Parallax View, a movie starring Warren Beatty, hit the screens. It was one of those back room, secretive, rear guard committee types full of conspiracy and intrigue. There is a scene in the movie where Beatty's character is subjected to a recruitment video montage designed to robotron his thoughts.

What took Texas Sports folks so long to engage the mind bending?
