Starting defensive lineman leaving Houston
Just ahead of National Signing Day and adding fresh personnel to the football program, Houston has found itself losing a veteran member of its defensive line.
According to the Houston Chronicle, defensive lineman Zeke Riser has decided to transfer from the Cougars. While no transfer destination was given — the Texas Longhorns are a rumored destination, however — Riser indicated that he would be heading to a program that’s closer to family.
“190 miles or 70? Think about it… #FamilyOverEverything,” the player tweeted Saturday afternoon.
Riser graduated from UH in December, meaning he would be eligible to play immediately at an FBS school if he enters a grad program not offered at his former university.
