Saturday Softball Open Thread

At least the Texas women can play ball. - Erich Schlegel

Texas takes on South Carolina this morning at 11

We thought the softball game today started at 12 and not 11, so deepest apologies for not getting this up until just after the first pitch. South Carolina defeated Houston yesterday while Texas took care of Army, so the Longhorns take on the Gamecocks right now on the Longhorn Network, followed by the elimination game between Houston and Army on ESPN3. Then, at 5:00, another elimination game between the Texas vs South Carolina loser and the Houston vs Army winner. So it's a good day of softball at McCombs Field.

If you can't make it out there yourself, this will be your open thread. We won't have a separate open thread for the baseball game at TCU, because: 1) who cares? and 2) really, who cares? The baseball team's season will come to its glorious end today after a 9-3 loss yesterday, which ensures Texas will go through all of 2013 without winning a single Big 12 baseball series.

This morning's softball game, on the other hand, matters. So here is your open thread for all three games in the Austin Regional. Hook 'em, ladies!
