This is probably beating a dead horse, but I have this 'impending doom' feeling in my stomach just because, once again, I cannot watch the Longhorns play football this year. Every time I sit and think about it I get these strange ill-feeling lumps in my chest and stomach and want to run to the bathroom. I just retired and had to move to a less expensive state to live in (was in VA and now in GA) and now I won't be able to see my Longhorns play. I sent the proverbial message to my ISP to sign up the Longhorn Network. I go to the University's website everyday to see if anything has changed with regard to signing up other network carriers. Nothing. And then I see "45 days 2 hours 43 minutes xx seconds to go...... days until game one 2013. Today, I said, who cares? I can't watch it anyway. So I skip to another website, anything, to keep me from getting sick again.
But I do care. I'm a Longhorn Fan. I have BURNT ORANGE in my old veins. And I want to watch the games. Alas, that isn't going to happen this year. So I came to Longhorn Nation and signed up so at least I'll have a connection somewhere. At least I'll be able to see what others are saying about our Longhorns. At least someone out there is informed and willing to share.
I was born in Corpus Christi, raised in Dallas, and lived in Texas for most of my life. I just want to tell you folks who are in Texas and who can't get the games because the Longhorn network isn't in your neighborhood, that I feel your pain, and that there are literally thousands and thousands and thousands of Texas Fans who are in other states who can't see them either. I search online for a decent radio station to listen to so I'm relegated to that. I'll be cheering as loud as ever but feel cheated.
Just one man's opinion.
