I took my share of troll-calling, and even an official threat from "Jeff" the Administrator, about my continued criticism of Mack Brown after the NMSU blowout (see, "clap-clap" and "koolaid will be all over our faces in Provo"...etc) I noticed early on in that game that Texas is still the same ol' uninspired cream-puff team that it was in 2012/2011/2010...and it angered me to no end! Now, however, EVERYTHING has changed. No longer is Texas expected to win. No longer does Mack have that stupid politician grin that he puts on when selling snake oil to the sheepish fans. To the contrary, his face looks hardened and serious...as if he had a major moment of realization. The players, too, aren't too far behind. Long gone is the posture of "big men" on campus and egos that came with 4- and 5-star blue chip rankings. They're probably being scorned and laughed at on campus this week. As anyone who has ever played football on any level knows, all of this makes for a combustible situation that may create a high charging atmosphere in the Texas locker room. What we'll have this Saturday in Austin is an angry, hurt and pissed off team that will play with reckless abandon (and probably, for once, up to their potential). I'm going to go out on a limb (primarily because I don't care what most of your clueless fairweathers say anyway...especially the ones that were so quick to extoll Mack's virtues after NMSU) and predict that TEXAS WILL WIN ALL OF ITS REMAINING GAMES! Big XII is down big time. My front runner was Okie State who may be embroiled in a protracted scandal. The rest of the Big XII looks unimpressive, to say the least. If I'm wrong, I'll take my licks...but I don't think I am. Texas wins big Saturday!
