I've been following the media and fan-based commentary since last weekend's loss in Utah. Sadly, I've been surprised with how much unfavorable talk is occurring. It seems after some adversity in the last three seasons and one loss into this season -- the media and fans alike are calling for a change.
Not everyone feels that way.
I'm a Texas kid, alumni, and proud father to two little girls that I hope will one day attend The University of Texas. I only date back to the early 80's, yet I cannot remember a time that the football program and entire athletics program have been as prominent and enjoyed the level of success as it has since your time in your role. Your accumulated wins and awards speak for themselves. More importantly, you've established a legacy for handling adversity with humility and grace. You've embraced our history with respect and you've shown our community that there is more to life than sports.
I can only assume that you'll continue to fight the good fight and not give up. But, if you ever find yourself in doubt, don't. You have been and will continue to be a tremendous coach in the heart and mind of a true Texas fan.
