I love Texas football. I was at Texas in the final year of the SWC and the beginning of the Mack Brown era. Mack resurrected a program and took it to new heights in that time period. But where the program is now is unacceptable. I have been a proponent of keeping Mack, but I'm starting to change my mind. I think it's time. The game has changed. It's time for Texas to make a change and bring in some new blood. The only problem is there is no guarantee that if Texas fires Mack, the guy that replaces him will be any better, and actually could be worse. We've seen this before, Tennessee comes to mind. Texas cannot afford to make a bad hire and fall farther down the slope that they're on. Nothing will kill a program like a revolving door of head coaches. Longhorn fans have been calling for Mack's job for awhile, but nobody seems to have any ideas for who we should hire. Let's assume for a minute that Saban will not leave Alabama, and why would he? Who should Texas hire to replace Mack Brown as head coach? I want realistic ideas. Saban is not going anywhere. I would doubt Urban would leave, same with Sumlin and Les Miles. So who?
