To get rid of Mack Brown you must get rid of the people responsible for keeping him. The Athletic Director, DeLoss Dodds is responsible for all the athletic coaches and is unwilling to make hard decisions. UT President, Bill Powers in turn is unwilling to replace Deloss Dodds. I would have Bill Powers, Deloss Dodds, and Mack Brown and staff all be replaced. I would bring Mike Leach in as Head Coach. Say what you will, but Mike Leach is brilliant in his offensive units and can developed quarterbacks like Kliff Kingsbury, can find talent like Michael Crabtree. He always had huge offensive and defensive line men. He needs a strong athletic director to keep him from self destructing, but he knows Texas high school athletics and given the talent the state has, can produce positive direction in a hurry. Wouldn't it be fun to have Leach coaching Texas against his protégé Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech? On a different issue, I would, also, let go Mike Barnes, and rehire Bev Kearney as the women’s track coach with a very public apology for the bigotry and racism exhibited by the "good old boys" (Dodds, etc.) and an appropriate pay raise. Bev led the women’s track team to 6 national championships, what other coach has ever approached that?
