Sunday night saw four-star Norcross (Ga.) power forward Rayshaun Hammonds cut his list to nine schools and the Texas Longhorns are among those still being considered. In addition to Texas, Hammonds listed Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Miami and Memphis.

Though the Georgia native is listed as a power forward, at 6’7, 190 pounds, Hammonds looks more like a slashing wing at the college level, which would translate seamlessly into a Shaka Smart-coached system given his experience and ability around the rim as a power forward in high school. Hammonds added a Texas offer in May and the ‘Horns are currently scheduled to receive an official visit Sept. 9. Georgia State, Alabama, Memphis and Miami will be the other four schools he official visits throughout the fall.
Hammonds ranks as the nation’s No. 55 player and No. 11 power forward.
