Texas hangs on to win its season opener against Fresno State, 55-53.

The Texas Longhorns beat Fresno State 55-53 in a game that was decided in the final minute. Sheldon McClellan led the way for Texas with 20 points, and was Texas' go-to scorer down the stretch. Javan Felix scored ten points, eight of which came in the first half. Marvelle Harris led Fresno State in scoring, with 11 points.

The Bulldogs pressured the Texas guards, forcing 13 Longhorn turnovers, while only turning the ball over seven times. Texas also struggled from the perimeter, going 1-13 on three point shots.

Texas won the game playing tough defense, and by running sets for Sheldon McClellan at the end of the game.
